Shadowdark shares the bones of 5e , but is more accessible for beginners. These sessions will be beginner-friendly but unforgiving, played casually and without continuity between runs. Think grim pulp horror: each delve is the next desperate job after your last's gold ran dry. I’m an experienced 5e DM wanting to explore the deadlier, streamlined world of dungeon crawling. Shadowdark is easy to pick up and full of tension. Its a spiritual successor to 5e but stripped down to the essentials. Simple rules, fast play, and lethal consequences! As it's refreshingly simple it's perfect for casual drop-in play! We'll have standalone dungeon crawls, while downtime will be 'offscreen'. More One-shots or series of short 1-3 session crawls. No ongoing arcs, just the next wild episode in a crawler’s life. Think pulp serials! Here's me reaching out to the Roll20 community to see who's wanting to learn the system with me!
