Welcome and Warning Hello all of my fellow horror lovers, after zombie jesus day, it feels like the perfect time to begin the DnD undead apocalypse campaign I always wanted to do. I myself have been running games for well over a decade, most of which were dnd 5e or 3.5 hosted on Roll20, typically my session run the lower end of 2-3 hours and I can start anytime between 5-8pm Central standard time on Saturdays As for the game; there will be zombies, and much more, much worse things to contend with. Be warned I will deal with widespread destruction semi-realistically, there will be struggling, suffering, suicide and body horror. You're players being some of the few folks powerful enough to offer protection to the helpless. I will likely include a fair bit of gallows humor too, but it's a fairly grim campaign where you will be most likely fighting a losing battle against great odds to save a few more souls. Lore The Pendorian Empire is fairly young, established finally without contestation barely fifty years ago. Children are still told to be grateful for this by their grandparents, local elves, dwarves, anyone who remembers truly. The continent was a mess before. Unpredictable wars and raids were a constant threat before Krung the Killer led his small war party against all odds through a bloody conquest that snowballed all the way to the top. Along the way he stamped out the last of legal slavery among the five kingdoms, even implemented strong gender equality laws that few followed before. That is to say nothing of the extraordinary technological renaissance that forced cooperation and the emperors investments have brought upon the world. Boats and trains powered by steam that can carry literal tons, metal poles that launch projectiles too fast to see with the naked eye! To list only the ones he took personal interest in. Krung is dead now of course, but his legacy lives on. Including the small shrine and marker in your shitty little hamlet of 20 odd souls that marks it the furthest northern point of the oh so mighty empire. The inhabitants mostly make their living off foraging and hunting the surrounding woods, with farming all but impossible. A few make charcoal. A few have stranger reasons for being there perhaps. And that's the in for your character creation. Character Creation The only stipulation to your character is that they are currently level 1, and that they live in a hamlet on the furthest northern point of their empire. I'm open to source books and whatnot as long as you're willing to be patient explaining unfamiliar rules to your GM. The setting is mostly human, but there are blank spots to fit any species. Similarly, magic is quite rare in this setting, but I don't mind your characters being special. I would like you to include at least a couple NPC's, not necessarily present at the hamlet, that matter to you positively or negatively. I only really need a sentence or two about them, and a paragraph at most about the character you'd like to bring to this campaign. You can message me or post that information here. I require point buy and do milestone level ups; any other questions feel free to message me. Or post here, or on the game itself, link below. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/421892/the-arctic-frontier
