Thank you for taking the time to read this. This game will be based in the Icewind Dale area of the forgotten realms though I will stress this is my take of the setting and area. The focus will be on it being player driven experience with each player forming a short term goals and long term goal, you can be a native or outsider that had the misfortune of getting locked in by the ice, due to the harsh weather that grips the lands. That isn't the only woe the ten towns face things two cults are at war with one another, more people are disappearing, dwarves march out from Mithral Hall, talk of a Drow witch, and undead attacks out in the frozen wastes. There is also what the players want and do, as this will be player driven in a sandbox with active world that moves and responds to what you do or don't do. I expect the game to go on for a long time willing to go up to level 20 but will see how people feel around 10. Tone of the game will be gritty and dark with adult themes, I am aiming for something little more serious then typical game, so expected a rated R game any other details can be hashed out or accommodations made that will work well with the game. While humor isn't bad I'm not looking for stand up routines or silly characters as the goal. Also hard requirement on the 18+ sorry no exceptions. There will also be heavy focus on RP while combat will of course be in the game it will not be for its own sake, and can be avoided should the situation allow and or players choose to. I encourage players also to be smart and respect any risks their characters take in and out of combat. The game will be PBP (Play By Post) this will be handled and done asynchronous which is post when you can with only requirement being at least one every two days. Post will done off site further information given on joining, you will need to be able to type and read English to a competent level doesn't need to be perfect but needs to be legible. Post will be done in the third person to have some consistency further details will be given on joining. As for character creation you will be starting off at level one while stats will be rolled 4D6 drop the lowest die get three sets and placed as you like. One set will be your first character and should character death happen you will use one of the other sets for you backups. While character death isn't my goal I believe in letting player actions playout and respecting the results of the dice for better and worse. I think games are better with real stakes and skin in the game. As for classes and races it will be a case by case situation. We will also be using the 2014 rule set since this is the one I have and know. As for XP will be awarded based on Role Playing your character, Challenges Noncombat and Combat, and Treasure.
