For some reason I can't edit my custom character sheet by typing. It will only allow me to copy and paste or delete, but I can't type anything in the custom character sheet. Anyone else having this problem?
haven't had that issue, but I also haven't used the custom character sheet editor in the game settings for development since the sheet sandboxes launched.
My point, which I made badly, was that you shouldn't be using the custom sheet editor to develop your sheet. You should be using the sheet sandbox which allows you to upload your code. If you want to automate it, then use my chrome extension, the r20 auto uploader .
I don't think we are on the same page. I am using the custom sheet editor under Game Settings. If this isn't where I should be doing this, then why is it available?
The custom sheet editor under game settings is there because it's 1) what we had originally, and 2) because people need to be able to use their custom character sheets instead of being locked to sheets that are published through the Roll20 repository. The sheet sandbox environment was added a few years ago and allows a much more streamlined development process in a roll20 game that can't have any players in it (so it can't be used to run a game). The sheet sandbox environment can be found from your games list page (right below the "Create New Game" button): or from your Roll20 home screen (next to the "Join Game" button):
