Well, I figured now is about a good time as any to throw up a first post on the campaign I'm creating, so I'll start from the beginning. What is Megadungeon PBP? ----------------------------------------- Megadungeon PBP (Play By Post) is a homebrew campaign using 5th Edition rules (PHB and MM, DMG when it arrives...) in a custom original setting. The campaign is play by post - meaning that there are no set sessions and dates, and all gameplay including combat and roleplaying will advance by forum post. For scalability and customization and ease, this will likely be done via a Google+ community page if not a completely separate forum altogether. Post 30 times a day? Sure! Once a week? Sure! The only time a player needs to dedicate is the time they choose to (and of course dependent on a DM replying in a timely fashion to new posts) . Okay, but what IS Megadungeon PBP? -------------------------------------------------------- Well to summarize quickly; the first wave of PC's (number TBD) find themselves transported mysteriously into the first floor of a huge, huge dungeon. They will start alone, and be free to explore on their own terms. Beware though... while players will start well away from each other, there is no starting party. Characters are free to kill each other, form parties of their own, roleplay, or just ignore each other. Of course all of this is predicated on a character surviving long enough alone against the minions of evil that inhabit the first floor.... As the game progresses, further waves of PC's will be allowed in to join the fun, starting as the first wave did alone and disconnected from anyone else. The story, and goal? Reach the bottom floor (oh, there is definitely more then one!) and find the exit. Above all else - survive. There will be leaderboards to track progress as the campaign matures, so that will be fun to watch. There are many other secrets and mechanics in this campaign to which I will not reveal here, given as a major part of this campaign is for the players and characters to find them out for themselves. So why do you need Co-DM's? ------------------------------------------ As you may understand at this point, the scope of this campaign is rather large. While it is PBP (which mitigates even my own time requirement by a lot) there will be a lot to handle, and help would be appreciated. The campaign isn't predicated on me receiving help - I WILL run this by myself if no one cares, but I figured I would at least ask around. I don't need many people, probably only 1 really active person, or 2 semi-active people - but the majority of the work will only come once the campaign starts and we actually have to pay attention to players. The structure of the campaign has been created to be very clear cut and defined, leaving most of the game interaction to the players, and not the DM's - meaning that through emergent self driven gameplay, our job is cut down immensely and most of the actual DM work will be very simple and easy (and made even more so by PBP). If your interested in becoming a Co-DM, please fill out the form below and reply with it here. If the form is not filled out, or not filled out correctly, I will likely ignore it. If you have any questions you want answered before you apply, just PM me or ask here and I will endeavor to answer them to the best of my ability. If I like your application enough, I will contact you and we will talk, eventually leading to a love match if it's in our stars. If I need more help at any point, I will ask again, or pull from the posts here. NOTE: I am NOT sending/accepting requests to join as a player yet. When it's time, there WILL be a post about it, and once I have the right amount of people set up and with created characters, the first wave will be sent in and the game will officially begin. Thanks for reading folks, I'm excited for this campaign, and I hope you guys are excited now that you've heard about it.
