Can The New Foreground Feature Be Used To Create Fog Effect?

Hello! I would like to create an effect that mimics fog cloud  from Pathfinder 1e: * Player can only see tokens that are in or directly adjacent to their character's token * Explorer mode effects still visible It would be even spiffier if there was a way to allow individual tokens to see through the fog if they have one of those odd fog-negating abilities, such as the ghost mask .  Does anyone know of a way? Can the new foreground layer be used to do this? Many thanks, Allen

Could be done with a mod script, although I'm not aware of one that does this. I can't think of a way to do it solely with native roll20 features though.
Thanks. As a kluge, can I simulate this by temporarily altering the "Limit Field of Vision" settings of the player's token? I don't quite understand how they work. Allen

Allen Not exactly.... Limit Field of Vision is for making a beam of vision, cone of vision, like only being able to see in Front of the token and peripheral vision to the sides but not behind yourself.  So that setting wouldn't work for letting a PC see only+all adjacent squares (they literally will not see the adjacent square that is directly behind them).

unfortunately, tokens don't have a "sight range" setting, which is what you'd need for this.
Rad ideas, I've passed this onto the team! Thanks for the suggestion!
There had been suggestions in that forum to add a feature to limit the maximum range of vision on a token for just this kind of case. Unfortunately, they did not gather enough support.  There are other cases for such limits, even just considering PF1, such as a blind creature with tremorsense or blindsense with a specific range limit.
As a partial workaround, you could try giving the Character Token "night vision" with a range of 3ish feet and turn off all light sources in the area. I have all my PCs night vision set to .5 feet so they can still see their token if their torches go out.
