[LFP] Hudson & Brand: Heart of Darkness [Call of Cthulhu / Cthulhu by Gaslight 7E] [Campaign] [Weekly] [Wednesday] [1 PM EDT / 6 PM UK]

Edited 1749312032
London, 1890.  A city choking on smoke, secrets, and something far older than empire. You are agents of Hudson & Brand: Inquiry Agents of the Obscure , investigators of the uncanny and the unspoken. The firm's founders have vanished under grim circumstances. Their cases remain—unresolved, rotting in cabinets and drawers, waiting to be unearthed. Each player will portray two characters: one of the upper or upper-middle classes—suited for society functions, gentleman’s clubs, academic halls and parlors—and one of the working class, at home in the slums, docklands, and back alleys. This dual structure allows for flexible investigation across London’s starkly divided social world and ensures no door—whether bolted with brass or latched with rust—is closed to the party. The game uses the new Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition Gaslight  ruleset, with expanded options for period play, occupations, and equipment. The campaign is based on Hudson & Brand  by Stygian Fox Publishing, but all cases, conspiracies, and mythologies are entirely original, written specifically for this game. Expect a dark, sandbox vision of London, thick with occult conspiracies, secret societies, and decaying truths. You will investigate child disappearances, plague outbreaks, unnatural artifacts, asylum experiments, and masked performances that spread madness like infection. While based in London, individual cases may lead to the moors of Yorkshire, the chalk downs of Sussex, the Celtic fringe—or beyond. Inspirations include The Woman in White, The Great God Pan, Dracula, and From Hell, as well as The X-Files and Fringe, reimagined through the lens of Victorian horror. Themes include social horror, cosmic dread, moral compromise, and the slow unraveling of reason beneath the weight of things man was not meant to know. Weekly Gameplay, Wednesday 10 AM PDT, 1PM EDT, 6 PM GMT, 7 PM CET, 4h Sessions, Beginner Friendly, LGBTQ+ Friendly, BIPOC Friendly, GM with 4 Decades of Roleplaying and Gamemastering Experience, Price: $22 per Session and Player payable through StartPlaying.games, free Session Zero for Character Creation and all Questions & Answers.
