Updating Character Sheets

June 25 (1 month ago)

Hello, I am trying to add some items to a character sheet, but when I do I get the error:

"It looks like you've tried to drop content from the 2024 verison of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition. Unfortunately, this sheet does not support that content. If you'd like to use the new content, please switch to the updated character sheet."

I have spent hours trying to find a solution and nothing I have tried has worked.... Can someone please help me figure out this entirely un-intuitive system? Why is there not an "upgrade character sheet" option anywhere that would be logical?!? Very close to giving up on this platform.

Hi Kalen E.,

In the Compendium there is 2024 and 2014 content. The D&D 5e 2014 by Roll20 Character Sheet cannot handle the structure of the 2024 content, so your choices are to use the 2014 content only, or manually enter the 2024 data (via copy/paste from the compendium), or use the D&D 5e 2024 by Roll20 sheet.

As for upgrading a character from 2014 to 2024 sheets, that was (is?) on the roadmap but the roadmap has been severely delayed due to problems with the 2024 sheet.

Personally, at this time my groups use the 2014 sheets and we manually enter the 2024 data. Usually by starting with 2014 data (drag/drop from compendium) then updating the text with any differences.

The By Roll20 sheets can only be updated by officislroll29 devs, so if you want to upgrade those sheets, the only way is to ask in that sheet's thread.
