Class dropdown eternally loading (2014 5e)

the 2014 version of the sheets seems entirely ruined

which is frustrating because I had always advocated for the simplicity of roll20 vs. other ttrpgs when it came to 2014 5e stuff

now it seems like ever since the 2024 game shipped, the entirety of 2014 has just gone and been broken and neglected. i'm not asking for new features i'm asking for it to just be functional

the most frustrating thing is my players nor i can ever select classes, it is stuck on "Loading..." no matter what game I play in unless its from before 2024 shipped. Seriously???

I really don't want to have to go and find a new service, especially because I've been using roll20 for so long, but if the sheets can't even function at a basic level then why would I continue?

Hi Selenawoofs,

It seems like you are trying to contact Roll20 about this. If so please use the Help Center as the Bug Report forum is primarily community help.

With that said, you can bypass the above problem via the settings cog next to spells. Then go to Custom Class and fill that in. It will bypass the search issue that you are having.

Thanks for that report, we just confirmed some issues on our end. We're getting on it right away. We'll have updates in this thread in a bit

We've identified the issue and are working to get it fixed, we expect to have it corrected by early next week. In the interim, if there are any compendiums you have turned on for your game that aren't required, turning them off should help with improving load times to get that dropdown working. I know that's not the best solution, so appreciate your patience as we get the fix fully out!

To add to what Patrice said, there are two other workarounds available besides removing compendium resources.
1) Search the Compendium tab for the desired class. Drag/drop it to the character and it should autopopulate everything.
2) Use the Custom Class option mentioned earlier in the thread.

Thank you! I will give these workarounds a try
