D&D 2024 Roadmap: Feature Reveals!

[Blog Post] Here’s what’s next for D&D 2024 on Roll20! We’ve been busy. Over the past months we’ve launched some of the most requested updates to the D&D 2024 sheet , including Homebrew Features, Sorting, Mod Scripts, and more . There’s still more to do to make this the best D&D sheet you’ve ever experienced, and we’re excited to announce the next leg of our roadmap! First, Some Big Reveals! We've been keeping some secrets. We have two new features we’re really stoked about, made possible by the D&D 2024 sheet tech! Build interactive shops and treasure chests instantly on Roll20! Our new Loot Manager system lets DMs quickly generate storefronts and treasure chests using owned compendium content, complete with pricing, rarity, and item details. Players can browse and “buy” at their own pace. It will even auto-generate a shop or chest for you in moments. The Loot Manager is launching in Early Access to Pro users in July. Here’s a quick preview! Sync conditions between sheets and tokens!  Condition Sync is a new Pro only feature that syncs conditions from your D&D 2024 sheet directly to your token! This also works in reverse. When you select a condition from the token menu, it activates that condition on your sheet! Condition Sync is coming to Pro users in early July. Loot Manager and Condition Sync are both exciting side projects from some of our amazing Roll20 developers. The full D&D character sheet team has been focused completely on improving the features you need the most. Here’s what’s coming next! Easier Editing, More Automation, and Better Views! In-line editing for NPC sheets The modals are pretty, but they’re slowing you down. We’re fixing that. In-line NPC editing is on the way. Click or tab through any field and update stats without opening modals. We’ll be releasing this iteratively, collecting your feedback as we go, and perfecting this before moving onto PC sheet in-line editing. More Homebrew Custom Backgrounds were just the beginning. Custom Species, Custom Classes, and more features to build out customization are in the works! Macro & Token Action Support We’re adding a greater variety of roll templates, and giving you more options to build your own roll and token actions. There’s a lot we’re exploring here to make sure you can build and trigger what you need when you need it. UI Updates We’ve heard a lot of great feedback about how you’d prefer to see information displayed. We’ll be implementing some quality of life updates that we and our early testers feel really good about. Full Public Roadmap We’re launching our D&D 2024 Public Roadmap , to help you know what’s coming next! We’ll be updating it actively. You can see everything here! Tell Us What You Need Our suggestion forums are the place we pull from first. If you want or need a feature, vote or post over there. It truly does dictate our prioritization when we commit to resources in a particular area. Feel free to also join us on Discord , where we jump in to chat regularly!

Those are some cool things coming up. Roll20 is moving fast these days!
Great updates, and I love the Jira roadmap. I'm assuming that the Sync Condition feature is only going to apply to PC sheets? I don't want to adjust a Goblin mook token and have it adjust all other Goblin tokens. There might also be some edge cases where I would want to sync a condition to one token for a PC, but not to others - I'll have to think about that some more. I'll definitely want to be able to use Custom Status Markers as well! Just ideas for the devs to please keep in mind while this feature is still being developed. :)  As I'm looking through my feedback/suggestion list : 1. I see that "Roll Template Design Improvements" is on the "Now" list, but I'm really hoping that new Roll Templates won't simply be available to the sheet, but will be accessible for custom macros. Currently the way that they are used/created by the sheet makes it impossible to recreate them manually. Is that what is meant by "Upgrades to allow for better compatibility of Macros & Token Actions using Beacon sheets" in the "Next" section?  3. Allowing non-numerical inputs or attribute calls in numerical fields. E.g., allowing for a custom Initiative to add Proficiency bonus, or to change the d20 attribute to allow for Manual dice rolling . ( Also requested here. ) It looks like that will fall under "Sheet | Advanced Dice Syntax Implementation" that is listed as "Next". 4. A GM-only whisper setting, which is available on the Pathfinder 2E character sheet. 12. I don't see anything about adding Vehicles. Is that on the roadmap?  15. I'd still love to have a GM-only description field just about everywhere.  16. The Loot Manager looks cool, but what would make it even better is the ability to have containers in inventory lists. Again, great updates, and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes out next!

I'm not sure if Conditions apply on NPCs anyway, sheet-wise. The section doesn't exist in NPC mode, at least visibly. But that is something to be aware of and concerned about.

As for your primary question, NPC sheets don't incorporate conditions directly for this reason exactly. We may want to explore ways to integrate conditions with NPCs in the future, but it would have to be done in a way that maintains that separation we all rely on!
Looking good!  I hope the new loot store will (eventually) offer a way to add descriptions and images (or links to images) for items, too!
Please add a search functions in the jukebox tab and in the page settings for picking a track to play on load. Large campaigns that use lots of music are tough to manage, especially since you can only sort by hand. Having track folders that aren't playlists would be great as well.
Was going to suggest it but I see the Jira has " Roll Template Design Improvements" which  covers it.

Hi Carl Swan,  The roadmap released in this thread is specific to the D&D 5e 2024 by Roll20 character sheet. It is not a general Roll20 roadmap.
A shop and loot generator was/is a much-needed feature Here is a script I created that also generated shops and had an item database; I hope it provides some ideas for your store system.
Will these be available to Pathfinder 2e and Demiplanes Pathfinder 2e Character sheets?

Amazing! Totally going to check this out! Thank you for this <3  DM Shaw said: Will these be available to Pathfinder 2e and Demiplanes Pathfinder 2e Character sheets? At this time this is a beacon technology feature we're building. We'll see how reception goes before considering further. Please add or vote on this in the Suggestions forums as well if you're happy with the feature once it's launched and want to see versions of it in other systems!

" "Transmogrifier allow copying of folders" is one of the most requested things by pro users for over 9 years. What obstructions are in the way? I've seen prototypes that have worked well enough but still hasn't been implemented. Is there any work towards coming to at least a compromised to this?

Hi, While manually translating a PC character sheet, I noticed that the input fields do not allow the use of commas (",") or periods ("."). This becomes a problem when converting distances from feet to meters. For example, a Wood Elf with a movement speed of 35 feet should be able to move&nbsp; 10.5 meters , but since decimals are not allowed, I can’t enter the correct value. This is an important detail for all users familiar with the metric system. I see two possible solutions: Allow the use of "," and "." in distance fields , so users can input decimal values manually , and allow to change "ft" to "m". Convert the entire american system from imperial to metric —you&nbsp;know, just finally fix the whole measurement situation once and for all  Option 1 is obviously the more practical fix for now, and I highly recommend it. Thanks for your attention! Note : @dean I'm interrested in having French Dnd Character Sheet , and can help with translation if necessary. see my post here : <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/12415875/support-of-other-language" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/12415875/support-of-other-language</a>
I'm very excited for the Loot Manager feature.&nbsp; I have a lot of custom items in my campaign, and this would be really useful.&nbsp; Useful enough that I might make the jump to using the 2024 sheet (I'm still using the 2014 sheet for a variety of reasons). But on that topic, I recently discovered you'd added a full-page view to the Spells tab (Thank You!), but why not for other tabs?&nbsp; Fighters offten have a plethora of weapons and attacks, inventory can get extremely complex when you have personal items, items on a horse/mule/vehicle, items stored at an inn, etc.&nbsp; And many of my players keep extensive Notes on their characters.&nbsp; All of those would benefit from the additional real-estate of a full-page view. I've added a suggestion item for this if anyone else likes the idea: 2024 DND 5e Sheet needs more Full Page views Also, @Camelotcrusade's suggestion of adding descriptions and images is an important one, descriptions in particular. On @keithcurtis' comment about NPC sync, while in general decoupling the status of an individual monters (token) from the sheet is critical, I do have some NPCs who are more "characters" than "villian of the night" who today use PC sheets dedicated to that one individual.&nbsp; While conditions (which I do use as markers on tokens rather than the sheet condition) are only a minor aspect (such characters also often need inventory) most of the things I put on those sheets could be accomodated in NPC sheets (and sometimes I use those, again dedicated to the one NPC, so I can see value in condition sync as I may need to move the villian between maps, and re-drop the token.
Let me first state that I love all of the updates that have been happening throughout the entire platform. With that said, I would love to also see some updates to the NPC character sheets for the updated 2024 D&amp;D 5E rule set. Everything is so model that it's an absolute waste of time to create a custom character of any sort. The old DND 5E NPC sheets were super easy to tab through and quickly update. I really hate to say it, but the old NPC character sheets were a serious improvement to what we have now. I've given it many chances and just cannot get on board. The new player character sheets are just fine. I'm seeing the incremental improvements and really appreciate those. It's just the NPC sheets that I have a problem with. I just went in to try to adjust the hit points, AC, and whatever else is in that single model set of menus and I found that I have to click the HP and then save, then go back into the menu again and hit the AC and then the save, then reactivate the settings to get into the menu for every element I wanna change if it's on a different tab within the nested collection of menus.&nbsp; I was at least hopeful to begin with, that I could tab through the HP, AC, and other stats, and only have to hit the save button once, but that is not the case. You have to save and go back in and then save and then go back in and save for every single bit of information that's on a different tab within that overall hierarchy of menus. Thank you so much for still allowing the two different types of sheets to be used within a single game. Being able to utilize the 2014 sheets while letting my players use the newly updated 2024 sheets is a benefit, but it's not an ideal solution. Once again, I'd like to reiterate that I love the majority of everything that you've done over the last few years with jump gate and beyond. The only thing that I am crying out for help with is the NPC sheets and I'm sure you'll eventually get to those. I'm just hoping that by being a squeaky wheel we'll see that update sooner than later. Keep up the great work my friends you've made the platform an amazing place to meet people, make friends, continue relationships, and overall just have a lot of fun.

Could we please have an in-sheet menu to add items? Instead of only drag-and-drop?&nbsp; Also, it would be great if items from DND modules were adjusted to the new sheet so I can drag and drop for my players items they find during the adventure. (I believe the items that came with the books are working well already, right? Like their unique features are added as effect to be used by the player easily? )
