[D&D 5e 2014 or 2024] 5-6 Players looking for a DM!

Hi! I am posting on behalf of my party as we are now left without a DM after the previous had to cancel the game after session zero due to their own comfortability (our current assumption is the game was gonna be a bigger under taking then they first thought as it was going to be their first online game they ran) About us and what we are looking for, there is 5-6 of us (one member most likely won't be able to join due to time constraints, but we are still trying to fit them in if at all possible!) and we are wanting a story, setting, and tone similar to the module we were going to play as our characters were made with that in mind, the module was Lost Mine of Phandelver into Shattered Obilisk. Playing the module is NOT a requirement, it is to give you a better idea of what our characters were made for to best help you pick/make a world for them to fit into! We also are fine talking and discussing world ideas to see if they would work with what we are looking for!  As for DM/Player style, we are mainly a RP focused group, so we would like a DM that is also more leaning to RP! And as for the time and day of the game, we are currently looking for a game on Friday's in the afternoon around 7 PM EST starting time! Now for the current party!: -Kobold, Ranger, chaotic good -Halfling, Paladin, chaotic good -Human, Sorcerer, neutral good -Tiefling, Cleric, neutral good -Human, Monk/Rouge, neutral good (And of course a possible sixth if we can make it work!) Thank you for reading and I hope we can make a amazing campaign and story together!
Hey folks,  First of all — sounds like you’ve got a really great group, and I genuinely wish you all the best with your campaign! (Sounds a bit “Game of Thrones” — I wish you good fortune in the wars to come — but I mean it sincerely.) I come in peace, and just wanted to offer my two cents as someone who’s been DMing for a long time. Feel free to take it or leave it — I’m not some old guy shaking his fist at clouds. Well… I am old. And clouds are troublesome. The truth is, there are way more players than DMs in this space, and posts like yours — while full of enthusiasm — might actually make it harder to attract a DM. One thing I’d gently suggest: instead of hoping a DM builds a world around the characters you’ve already made, consider flipping that and seeing how your characters can fit into the world a DM brings to the table. From my perspective, creating characters before knowing the world or tone can feel like a mismatch. It might even make a DM wonder how much buy-in the group will give to the story they want to tell. Anyway, that’s just my perspective. Wishing you all the very best — may you find the right storyteller for your journey.
Hello! Thank you for the wishes, I hope the best for you as well! ^^ I do appreciate the perspective as I want to make it as easy for the DM as I can. It wasn't the intent to have the DM literally make a brand new world and setting just for us, but to describe what type of campaign/adventure we want to be apart of so they'd know what settings, homebrewed or official, works best for our characters to fit into and we are fine tweaking things about our characters to fit a setting, but not to the point of it being basically new completely different characters, if that makes sense ^^'. For a bit of an example, we talked with a couple possible DM's but they wanted to run more Grimdark settings which, even with pushing tweaking of the characters, really doesn't fit with our party, the type of characters we'd like to play, or a type of story we wanted to be apart of, at least in the way those DM's wanted this setting to go and the amount of compromises we'd need to make with our characters to even make them kind of work/fit, and was a deal breaker with them as the DM's didn't want to run a different type of setting or story. I hope I was able to explain that right, and again, the perspective is appreciated!
Thanks for the thoughtful reply — and yep, that makes total sense. I really appreciate you clarifying that — sounds like you’re not rigid about it, just looking for a campaign that fits the vibe your group enjoys, which is totally fair. It also helps to know you're willing to tweak characters to fit the world, but maybe consider waiting on character concepts until you have read their world / module as not all concepts fit I hope the right DM crosses paths with you soon. You’ve got a strong foundation — just keep being honest and open like this, and I’m sure it’ll come together. Good luck!

Hey hey! I love a group that knows what they want. The idea of "story the DM wants to tell" is fine, but it's not the only option and don't feel steered that way.  Sadly, that timeslot doesn't work for me, but I'll ask around. Do you have any wiggle room? Feel free to dm me. Have a grand day!
A DM has been found! A big thank you to everyone that messaged both in this forum and and in private! As I don't know if I can close a forum, I figured a post to let anyone know this is now closed would be appropriate!  And best of wishes for everyone's future games! <3
