The City is struggling. Costs are rising, the sick are dying, and
crime seems to go not just unpunished, but rewarded .
But the people don’t revolt. They don’t rise up and fight.
They seem to accept it all, just trying to survive, with barely any awareness that things weren't always this way.
But
you’re different. You’re a Rift – a human being with a Mythos
inside you that gives you access to supernatural abilities. It lets
you see beyond the mist, the thin veil of distraction and confusion
that seems to blanket the city in ignorance and submission. You won’t
let the City’s lies cloud your vision and your judgment. You’re
here to give the City back to the people, and nothing will stop you
from liberating the metropolis you grew up in. This isn’t just for
you – it’s for everyone .
Hi, I'm Phoenix! I've been a GM for about 15 years, and I would love to
find some players who are interested in creating a new group, playing once a week at most, for a long-term tabletop game in City of Mist! If you're not familiar with the game... It’s
a modern urban fantasy game where you play as a Rift—someone living an
ordinary life (a job, a home, a family), but touched by something
extraordinary: a Mythos. Your Mythos could be anything from a historical or religious figure to a pop culture icon to a video game protagonist to a pure concept (like Luck or Time).
With it, you gain supernatural powers and the ability to see through the
Mist—an unseen force that hides the truth of the city from most people. But your Mythos has its own agenda. Maybe it coincides with yours, maybe not. Will you follow its search for answers, or your own? Your
character’s journey balances personal mystery, supernatural powers, and
everyday struggles. The city’s full of strange happenings, shifting
loyalties, and hidden truths. Your powers might help reveal them… or make
you a bigger target. You'll
have total freedom to create your characters. So if you've always
wanted Sora's keyblade, the winged shoes of Hermes, or even just to
embody the concept of True Love, you can have that while using those
abilities to take down a corrupt government and free the people from its tyranny. I myself recently made Rifts of the Naiad (a freshwater spirit) and of Moiraine Sedai from The Wheel of Time! If this story doesn't quite fit for you, I'm open to ideas! City of Mist has a great way to
decide what kind of game you want to play as part of character creation,
so if you like the idea of the game but not this story, let's
find one that'll work for you! Don't worry if you don't have the player's handbook. I've got you! If
you're at all interested or have any questions, leave a reply or send
me a message and I'll be happy to talk! The only days I can't do is
Sundays, as I already have another game, but otherwise, I'm open! I'm in the EST timezone. but that doesn't mean too much to me. Let me know when you can play, and odds are, I'll be able to play too! All
games will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $40 USD per
month per player via Venmo. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment
transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements.
