A city still recovering from a devastating earthquake 10 years
prior, the ruined buildings and shattered streets remain as scars of
the tragedy and loss. As the city now begins to look towards the future,
a sinister force appears which echoes the pain of the past 10 years. O
magical girls, will your bravery and kindness be enough to save a lost
heart from being consumed by darkness?
Hello, I'm Weather (He/Him, 29 yo) and I am looking for 4-5 players form a magical girl campaign using Girl by Moonlight , a tragic magical TTRPG. I have been running TTRPGs for 7+ years but have never run Girl by Moonlight ,
so even if you're a TTRPG veteran or have never played before we can
explore this system together! This will be a biweekly campaign, with
sessions taking place every other Fri/Sat (days and times of sessions
TBD).
This game is set in the year 20XX in the small coastal city of
Corrica which was struck by a devastating earthquake 10 years ago.
Although the earthquake left much of the city in ruins, Corrica has
slowly managed to recover and rebuild as it now reaches the 10 year
anniversary of the tragedy. You will be playing as high school students
who are confronted by a dark and mysterious force and are granted
magical abilities to protect the lives and hearts of your friends and
the citizens of Corrica. Will you manage to stop the darkness or will
you fall into darkness yourself?
A few important things to consider if you are interested in applying for this game:
This game will explore challenging and difficult topics, such as
mental health, bullying, loss, and grief, however from these I hope that
themes of empathy, hope, and forgiveness will blossom as we play. Think
less Madoka Magica and more Sailor Moon R and Revolutionary Girl Utena
in terms of tone. X-cards, check-ins, and other safety tools will be
used throughout the game to make sure everyone feels safe exploring and
expressing challenging topics.
Going along with these themes and topics, the game will be heavily
roleplay focused with an emphasis on player-player interactions. You
don't have to be a theater kid or voice actor, but players should be
willing to take initiative and engage with each other and the world. As
we explore difficult topics please be respectful and understanding of
each other, our characters, and our journey.
Although this is a "magical girl" adventure, this game is open to
anyone regardless of gender identity. LGBTQ+ themes and self-discovery
are inherent to the magical girl genre and so any bigotry or homophobia
will not be tolerated. The only restriction to applying is that you must
be 18 years or older.
If you are interested in applying please complete this form here , and I look forward to a dramagical journey with you!
