A literate, lore-heavy, RP-oriented D&D 5e homebrew where your choices shape the story! No prophecy. No chosen one. No railroading. Only the living world — and the history you create within it! Weekly on Saturdays at 7:30 pm CST!

There are those that bear wield only skill, wit, and courage, and those that bear gifts rare. All can leave their mark, if only they dare. === The story is yours! === The world waits — but not for a hero. It waits for you . Across kingdoms, empires, and shadowed wilds, countless threads lie untied: wars brewing on distant horizons, ancient ruins whispering of forbidden truths, and powers rising in courts and in the spaces between. There is no prophecy. No chosen one. No fixed path. No sealed absolute evil. The future will be shaped by the ambitions, fears, and past deeds of those who dare act. Will you rise to unite kingdoms or plunge them into chaos? Will you uncover secrets best left forgotten or keep them buried? Will your name be sung in triumph — or cursed in the streets? In this world, there is no script . Every alliance, betrayal, and sacrifice will be born from your choices. Every victory and tragedy will be yours to claim. This is not a story you follow. This is a story you create. === Campaign Details === Platform: Discord (vocal participation is mandatory) Region : Campaign is available to players in North America; players in Oceania (New Zealand and Australia) can join if time is commensurate Schedule: Weekly on Saturdays at 7:30 Central Standard Time (CST); 6:30 pm Mountain Standard Time (MST); 5:30 pm Pacific Standard Time (PST); 8:30 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST); there might be days where the session would begin 30 minutes later, but it may not be frequent Session Time: 2 - 3 hours; if players are enjoying their time, and wish to continue, we may continue to 4 hours Starting Character Level: Level 1 Starting Character Equipment: can be discussed or starting equipment Sessions: Zeroth session is planned for 30th of August , and the first session is planned for the 6th of September; accommodations can be made for players if they are feasible Tone: Mature themes handled respectfully; a blend of intrigue, adventure and personal drama === Campaign Info and Contact Info === To learn about the campaign , and how to apply to it, please read this document : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1F3aJ3DlSni70VtpqHQKc2ccWJlPjiPL9TGp9XOto77g/edit?usp=sharing
Hi! I am really interested in the story that you want to tell. A world that is deeply inspired by reality where consequences are real and ruthless. RP EXPERIENCE: my TTRPG experience solely comes from playing VTM v5 since I was drawn from its personal and political horror. I played 4 chronicles (campaign) and finished all of them. D&D on the other hand, is non-existent. This would be my first campaign ever so I plan on researching stuff (and ask a lot of questions to the DM) if ever given the opportunity to play. What I the enjoy most in a campaign: I enjoy political intrigue, fleshing out my characters story arc, and helping my team flesh out their own. I enjoy hearing lores, and is a sucker for twists and challenges that can be detrimental to my character since I enjoy problem solving. What I don’t like: scenes that drags longer than its meant to be, a rule-lawyer player, and A player that does not know when to share the spotlight. Any reservations towards what you read : since this is my first D&D game and no reference, so I dont know what is good and bad yet. but I am more than happy with the direction and theme of the campaign. Your commitment : This timeslot fits perfectly for me. (UTC+8). The only times that I may skip the session is during exam seasons (Uni student) but I can always share and inform ahead of time. What excites you about a player-driven, story-rich campaign ( optional ) : I love Narrative-Based games. That is what drew me into VTM in the first place, not to mention that I have played almost all CYOA games in Choice of Games. A player-driven game would mean that my choices truly matter, and the characters success and failures would affect me more than a simple dice-roll rule! type of game. A brief character concept you’d like to play — personality, backstory seeds and goals (optional) : A simple human. That would perfectly match the theme of the campaign, no? just a human trying to navigate the vast complex world with only his wits as sword and human will as shield. And if ever he survives til the end of the story, we would know that its because of his choices, and not due to him being special and 'destined'. I still have no Idea regarding the different classes, and races, and would prefer to hear more about the world before setting up my characters goal and ambition.
1. I've played quite a few TTRPGs over the years, but I'm typically the DM. I haven't had a chance to play lately though, and shockingly have never touched 5e (although I've picked up stuff about it through osmosis). 2. Actually a difficult question, seeing that I'm almost never on the player side of the table. When brewing stuff up myself I suppose I tend to gravitate towards well realized worlds and strong arcs for characters. In general I suppose I just prefer a narrative focus over a strictly mechanical one. 3. Direct references to real world politics is my only hard NO. Beyond that the "chaotic stupid" player who thinks neutrality means they're unbound by morality and/or does dumb things to ruin the experience of the party. Going off some of what you wrote in the document, you know EXACTLY the sort of player I'm talking about. 4. I have a few very specific questions, most of them regarding the depth of consequence. I also have a few more general things I'd like to ask related to GM style. A brief run-down on the lore of the setting would also be nice, preferably in the form of a handout/packet if one exists. 5. Full disclosure here, I am not sure about fully committing to this campaign. This is more an expression of interest right now, primarily because I'm not going to say "Yeah, I'm going to commit" unless I can be 100% honest about that. Character concept: Without knowing the lore I can't say anything specific. I'd want whatever character I played to feel organically rooted in the setting. On a general level though I'd say I'm the type to min-max, but with "everything related to combat" being my dump stat as I go all in on RP and utility abilities. Actually the whole reason I've never touched 5e is my past experience with DnD has shown it's not exactly the sort of system that supports that kind of playstyle. The few times I was a player in the past I'd play some sort of mage given you can typically twist that into "my character is well educated and I suppose that means he knows a little magic", but considering the setting restrictions I think I'd be more likely to go for rogue/bard/artificier.

1- Your RP experience (tabletop or text-based): none, beginner, intermediate or advanced; all levels are welcome to the campaign! I would classify myself as intermediate. I have been in several games but high turn over has been an unfortunate issue with quite a few. I have done balanced and heavy RP styled games. The current one I have been in for four years and is dominant in both text rp and with-in game time. I am decent at improv and enjoy discussion. 2- What you enjoy most in a campaign: state your expectations, even if you never participated in a campaign, regarding what you want from the story, lore, world, host and other players. I enjoy the rp experience when its tethered to lore and the world developed. I love story telling immensely. I expect it to be properly weighted against fun fights but i suppose I would hope that it would be well weaved where it creates firm bonds in that part and really strengthens the journey. My expectation is a level of seriousness in the rp but also a dash of whimsy. I love when a group can be deep, introspective and build more story through rp but also take that to a tavern for laughter. My hope is that I get the joy of the character building that comes with rp. 3- What you don’t like: state behaviours that you will not tolerate from either the host or players - the non-negotiables. I do not like players who are prone to bullying, over compensation or optimization and to deviant behaviors that do not consider the party or put the group at risk. 4- Any reservations towards what you read : state if you have any issues with what you read, which can be discussed in the interview. Not that I have seen. I feel this campaign and DM would be a great match for me as a player who aligns well with what I have read. 5- Your commitment : this is a long-term story. Are you ready to attend sessions regularly, and let the group know ahead of time if you can’t make one? Absolutely. I have a long 4 year campaign ending soon that I am, so I absolutely have the experience with the commitment. I would love to see to another one. 6- What excites you about a player-driven, story-rich campaign ( optional ) : state what you like about RP-oriented campaigns I love story rich campaigns that take more of a RP oriented approach because I love the thrill of story telling due to how immersive it can feel. It being player driven creates a more exciting experience and environment thats more engaging. I think it makes characters more dynamic and the experience more rich for me as a player. The interactions become more weighted for the players which in-turn serve a great purpose to what could shock, stun or horrify down the road and I live for that sort of experience. 7- A brief character concept you’d like to play — personality, backstory seeds and goals (optional) : if you have an idea on what character idea you want to use, feel free to share it. I would love to dabble in possibly warlocky or artificer. I think I would love to play a character that has a lot of background to her or complication to get a slow burn revea. I have a few concepts but enjoy the surprise factor for the party. l will say that its likely a character that is naive or morbid.

Your RP experience (tabletop or text-based): I’ve been playing D&D 5E since 2018 on a weekly basis, with a little experience with VtM and Deadlands. What you enjoy most in a campaign: I love D&D for the collaborative storytelling aspect and playing characters in that world and seeing how they act/react to events and to each other. The kind of thing where for five sessions we don’t see any combat because we’re busy with planning or with dialogue between each other about something of relevance in the world or exploring how in-depth the city we’re in can be and all the opportunities that can be created to add to the narrative. What you don’t like: When I say “inappropriate behavior,” I don’t mean grade school stuff, I mean the likes I’ve seen of “I’ll charm the guard to make him defecate in his pants then make him eat it.” Like no. Any reservations towards what you read : Nope, this is an rp-heavy game that heavily plays on realism of the world and how the characters navigate it with earned magic aspects, I’m down with it. Your commitment : Certainly, easily communicable. What excites you about a player-driven, story-rich campaign ( optional ) : The openness and fluidity of the shared narrative; how we as a group can collaboratively decide where it goes and what happens in it, and in that a lot of unique story beats are created organically that’s also a surprise for the DM to contribute to rather. A lot more dynamic than an overarching story the DM has already planned out. A brief character concept you’d like to play — personality, backstory seeds and goals (optional) : I love playing characters with debilitating circumstances that are either hidden for a long-term reveal or something that influences various aspects of their navigations. As for concepts, all pretty nebulous, like maybe someone fascinated with trying to unlock any arcane secrets in blood, maybe a war veteran disillusioned with the grandeur of honorable service, maybe that story bard trying to find meaning in life after a negative event and is trying to find something through the witnessing and collection of other people’s stories.

Hello, I'd like to apply for myself and my girlfriend. I'm at work and can't converse with her right now, but I more or less know what she wants. Come time to interview, I'll make sure to include her. 1)Your RP experience (tabletop or text-based): none, beginner, intermediate or advanced; all levels are welcome to the campaign! I would say I'm very experienced, I typically know all my spells and abilities, I know all the rules and have often cited them in the past when DMs asked me to. My girlfriend knew how to play 5e before I met her. I do usually help.her with spell selection and things like that on level up, but she writes her own stories and makes her own decisions for her character.. 2) What you enjoy most in a campaign: state your expectations, even if you never participated in a campaign, regarding what you want from the story, lore, world, host and other players. My favorite aspect has always been the cooperative aspect of the game. I usually do tend to play serious characters like what the tone of this campaign calls for. For her, I know she wants to play with me, and this time we would like our characters to have a romance in our personal story arcs. 3) What you don’t like: state behaviours that you will not tolerate from either the host or players - the non-negotiables. I know her big one is all sexual encounters fading to black. Not that we intend to engage in that, but I think she encountered that before. For myself, my biggest one is not doing anything that permanently alters my character, mainly things like cutting off limbs or changing his gender, things of that sort. 4) Any reservations towards what you read: state if you have any issues with what you read, which can be discussed in the interview. I'm curious about the magic system mentioned, I'd like to know a little more. 5) Your commitment: this is a long-term story. Are you ready to attend sessions regularly, and let the group know ahead of time if you can’t make one? Yes of course that's basic etiquette. 6) What excites you about a player-driven, story-rich campaign (optional): state what you like about RP-oriented campaigns I'm definitely excited to join settings with heavy political intrigue. Wheel of Time and Trails of are some of my favorite series. I also saw Final Fantasy 6 mentioned as an inspiration. 7) A brief character concept you’d like to play — personality, backstory seeds and goals (optional): if you have an idea on what character idea you want to use, feel free to sha re it. As stated I can say we want a romance arc. We each have things about our characters we don't want the other to know yet, so I don't want to say any more than that out in the open yet, but I'll be happy to discuss over Discord. Edit: I sent the Discord friend request, I hope you got it.
All requests have been received and I responded to them all.
