Character Planning/Ideas

Figured I should stop spamming FTG. XD Anyway you're welcome to look through the books yourself and play what you want, but if you have a concept or anything like that in mind, I'm happy to help you narrow down the search.

Okay Levy, on your idea I think the Druid from the Player's Handbook 2 would fit. If you really wanted to include Drift, I've actually come up with a mechanic to replace Wild Shape with Drift (the short of it being you don't turn into animals, you have animal features that let you use beast powers) but before I go all out on that, wanted to see what you think about the Druid as is. The Warden or even possibly Shaman in the same book might be worth looking at too. Edit: Though, if you let me know exactly what out of Drift you want, I could probably narrow it down more. Mechanically lots of what Drift gave you in 3.5 is basically just feats in 4e, for example.
Okay, well out of Drift I think I was planning on getting the augments like: — You grow a cat's tail. — Your skin adapts like that of an octopus. — Your eyes become as sharp as an owl's. — Your nose becomes as sensitive as a hound's. — You gain the tremorsense of an earthworm. Which were more about changing my senses if that makes sense. I'm not 100% on these specific ones, but I think that I would rather have that then actually sprouting antlers or a stinger or getting tree bark for skin.... I'm going to look up Shaman and Druid things now to see what they're about and I'll get back to you.
So, what I've got so far is the idea of a large, meaty Minotaur fighter. Wields a heavy shield and a war hammer. Really straightforward guy, and while not unfriendly, he's really determined to complete whatever task he is assigned--so much so that it pretty much dominates his thoughts, making conversation usually dull. He's not particularly perceptive, nor is he genius by any means, but he's smart enough to know when he and his team need to retreat, but foolhardy enough to believe himself strong enough to protect everyone at the same time. His idea of protecting them is by making sure no one can look at anyone else but him, lest his hammer find a worthy target of their skull. I just like that thought. :)

Well, Minotaur and Fighter are things. XD On the 'fighter' bit though, did you want to fight with just strength of arms, or did you just mean good at fighting and might be interested in another defender like the paladin or warden? Edit: Or alternatively while it sounds like you want to be a defender, Fighter has a subclass called the Slayer that is a striker. Though they don;t tend to use a shield. If you go with a shield you're probably best going with the defender.
The reason I chose Fighter over Paladin or Warden is that I didn't want him being, like, a defender of nature. Or a Paladin, because he's not really a religious defender, y'know? Just a mountain of meat fighting against his inner beast. I liked the Fighter idea because it gives him access to all the weapons and armor traits I'd like. Defender is indeed what I'm after.
