About me: I’ve been involved in tabletop RPGs as both a player and game master since the late 1970s, and I’ve been part of the World of Darkness since the beginning — playing and storytelling Vampire: The Masquerade since its 1st edition release in 1991. Along the way, I’ve also dabbled in VtM LARPs, adding another layer of experience with the setting and its themes. I’m also knowledgeable about the other World of Darkness systems — Werewolf, Mage, Wraith, and Changeling — as well as Star Wars, all editions of Dungeons & Dragons, and many other RPGs. General description of the chronicle: Miami, 2022. The city doesn’t wear one mask. It wears dozens, layered and cracked, each one waiting to cut your skin. It is a place of extremes: glass towers rising above broken sidewalks, pastel neon glowing over alleys that stink of rot, wealth and ruin pressed together so tightly you can’t tell which will swallow you first. In one direction, music and lights roar without end; in another, silence smothers the streets until you feel like you’ve already been buried. The city promises paradise, but it’s a paradise with blood in its teeth. And into this chaos walk the fledglings. You are not Camarilla, not yet. Recognition is not given... it’s dangled, a poisoned carrot offered by a court that sees you as tools, toys, or kindling. To survive you must bleed, bargain, and prove yourselves worthy of the Ivory Tower. This chronicle will start Camarilla-focused: player characters are expected to aspire, in some way, to acceptance within the Ivory Tower. Beginning this way keeps the early narrative tight and avoids sprawling preparation, ensuring the chronicle launches strong and focused. But the city is not tame... as events unfold, the pull of rebellion and the lure of the Anarchs may creep into the story, testing whether your characters cling to velvet control or burn toward something wilder. The coterie will begin in a domain carved out of Hialeah Gardens, Hialeah, Opa-Locka, Doral, or Flagami... neighborhoods on the outskirts of Miami, outside the official Camarilla domain. These contested zones lie in the shadow of the Tower’s reach, where independent and Anarch Kindred hold sway, and where danger is never far. The fledglings won’t face this alone: their coterie mentor, a regent of the domain, will guide them through their earliest nights… but every lesson comes with a price, and every protector has their own agenda. This is a story about ambition on the lowest rung, about survival in a city that eats the weak. Miami is the crucible: it will burn you, melt you, and forge you into something new...  or leave you as ash on the sidewalk, forgotten before the sun comes up. And while the spotlight is on the Kindred, the shadows are never empty... whispers of werewolves, mages, wraiths, and stranger things remind you that the World of Darkness is always bigger than the Camarilla’s games. Playable clans (alphabetical order): Banu Haqim, Brujah, Gangrel, Hecata, Lasombra, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Toreador, Tremere, Ventrue. Character scope: Fledglings only — recently Embraced and not yet formally presented to the Prince or Camarilla court. Note: Brujah, Gangrel, and Hecata characters are allowed, but players should keep in mind that these clans are more likely to be viewed as outsiders by the Camarilla and may have to go further to prove their loyalty. Required experience level: Familiarity with V5 helpful, but newcomers welcome if willing to learn. How to apply: DM me via private message on Roll20 with a simple paragraph or two about your experience with the game and your character concept. Anything else:  There will be a Session Zero to set expectations, talk character concepts, and establish group tone. By default, not many topics are off the table — this is gothic-punk horror — but there will be no depictions of hardcore sex. Player comfort is important: any topics can be discussed and set aside if they need to be off the table. LGBTQ-friendly and inclusive. All players welcome. Must be 18+. Certain Backgrounds, Merits, and Flaws will not be allowed; these will be handled individually as they come up. I aspire to give every player their time to shine; this is a shared story. Overly “Mary Sue” concepts or attention-hogging playstyles are discouraged in favor of balanced, collaborative storytelling.
