Game Details System:  D&D 5e 2014 version but willing to try and learn 5.5e if need be (custom gunpowder fantasy homebrew) Schedule:  Saturdays (weekly or bi-weekly) | 5pm CST Platform:  Foundry + Discord (mic required) Players Needed:  4–6 (18+ only) Campaign Length:  Long-term with evolving storylines What is Ashendell? Nearly four millennials have passed since the cataclysm known as the Great Change tore the Old World asunder, plunging humanity to the brink of extinction. The truth of this apocalyptic event has faded into myth, but from the ashes of this lost era, a new Dark Age arose, where the machines and cities of humankind crumbled beneath the relentless march of time and nature’s reclaiming hand. Since then, the survivors of the Old World have evolved, their bloodlines infused with magic to become crystal-wielding mages, river-forged warriors, and fey-touched mystics. Ancient wonders, remnants of a forgotten age, hum with newfound energy, blending steel and sorcery in a world where new nations has risen from the ashes of the old & rediscovering old technology. Ashendell is a world of haunting beauty and perilous intrigue, where the echoes of divine shape the fate of all who dare to rise. It is a sandbox for epic tales of heroism, betrayal, revolution and discovery—a world waiting for your story to unfold. But be warned wanderer, every action (direct or indirect) will help shape this world for the better…..or worse. Unleash your Imagination!     Ashendell isn’t just a world—it’s a playground for your imagination! This homebrew setting comes with other homebrew materials such as: Unique Races:   Shardkin:   Born from the radiant chaos of Ashendell’s mana storms, the Shardkin are crystalline humanoids infused with pure magical energy. Their bodies shimmer with inner light, and jagged mana shards protrude from their forms. Scale-folk:  The  Scalekin , as the Croc-Folk are known in Ashendell, are a race of massive, crocodilian humanoids whose origins are shrouded in mystery. Many scholars in Runari and the Terranean Republic theorize they originated in the far east of the Eastern Continent, near a pre-Change river known as  The Great Three Rivers .   The Oni-kin  of Ashendell are descendants of ancient demons. Originating in the fiery landscapes of Drakonheim, particularly the Cinderfall Savanna, Oni-kin bear the legacy of their demonic ancestors, tempered by the mana that courses through their veins. In their base form, they appear humanoid, with heights ranging from 5’5” to 6’5”, marked by horns, tattoos, or ember-like eyes that hint at their heritage. Their true power emerges when they transform, becoming towering, primal entities of raw force, their skin taking on reddish, ashen, or stormy hues depending on their lineage.   The Aetherbound  are Ashendell’s Fey, born from mana storms during the Great Change, the Aetherbound emerged when mana storms, living among human survivors, creating a new lineage and families. Custom Subclasses:  Choose from tailored paths with new subclassses to spice things up! Monk, Subclass: Pugilists  are scarred and defiant, their knuckles wrapped in rune-scribed cloth. Unlike the Banneret/Purple Dragon Knight, which is often seen as underwhelming due to its reliance on short-rest healing and limited support, the Centurion provides consistent, impactful leadership through auras, reactions, and tactical commands. The subclass balances frontline combat prowess with team support, ensuring the Fighter remains a strong martial character while enhancing allies in meaningful ways. just bumping this up. still looking for a few players :D
I had realize i needed to make a small edit at the beginning post. Giving a more detail about the new races and classes adventures like you can be!
Hey, I like the ideas and vibes of this, im definitely interested in potentially joining. My name is Mokker, my disc is mokker01. I've been playing dnd for about a year now. I definitely enjoy combat and roleplay the most in dnd, and definitely enjoy enabling my parties shenanigans. I have a few character concepts i've been playing around with for a while, but id like to play a sword and board fighter, who is motivated to be a good person and to do the right thing through arrogance, while still maintaining a healthy pragmatism. Thanks for your consideration!
Stormfox said: just bumping this up. still looking for a few players :D Hey there. I see you posted some homebrew, and some of what looks like it's 3rd party content, and the ideas look interesting. I was wondering if you'd be open to some other 3rd party content on 5esrd.com. I really like the options for magic arrows, bolts, and bullets, as opposed to merely +x; and maybe reskinning them. I do have some other ideas for magical ammo, to limit the amounts one can use per turn and adventuring day, using the wizard spell slots as a guide. This could go well with the Gun Slinger subclass, who van also go crossbow, when needing stealth. I've been getting into 5.5, with the new weapon masteries, and I believe all feats now also offer a +1 to ASI. BTW, what level would we start? I'd hope at least 3-5... The Centurion seems like it may be akin to one of the Warlord variants, maybe like Tasty Kibbles, or your own spin? I kind of like the Custom Lineage. My idea would be an Aasmir based mixed background. The basics are that he doesn't have any of the regular Aasmir abilities (lay on hands, transformation/flight, resistances, etc), and has been "The Aasmir, that isn't." Further, he has faced hatred, from people knowing what he is, and blaming him for "failures of the gods." "Why were my loved ones (fill in blanks)?" "Why did the weather/pests/whatever destroy our crops? Why was there a drought?" He's also learned to be overly cautious, because people doing evil will think he's "sent to stop them," and people with evil in their plans have been known to take preemptive strikes on Aasmirs. I've been toying with using the "twin" goddesses of good and bad luck (fortune), where he will sometimes be called upon by the devote of good, to free those enslaved by bad...possibly include an interest by Zariel, maybe to cause a fall like hers to Avernus, or maybe as a pawn to offset others. On Discord, I'm AP2P. How I play? Whether I'm a Cleric, or the only knight amongst casters, I try to make sure the party survives. This has been with Bless+Emboldening Bond as a Peace Cleric, to having my Echo be in the air and using a reach weapon on zombies, while my Knight crushes monsters downing casters.
