How making a custom magical object

Hi, Context: jumpgate, DnD5/2024 character sheet I can modify an existing magical object completely:  for example dropping a "rod of resurection" on a character then modify it to a "Scepter of Mighty Power" (adding base physical attack and many spells) BUT I cannot: - make my "Scepter of Mighty Power" reusable for another character without completely rebuilding it - add a raw object and empower it with spellcasting Any ideas / tips / tricks ? Hi Serge,  It sounds like you want to make a custom item that you can move from character to character, similar to the Compendium. Is that correct?

Hi Gauss, thanks to you looking at my post :) Yes, in fact TWO questions about "custom" magic items 1: How making a custom "from scratch" magic item able to appear in the Spellcasting drop down list of a spell The screenshot below show how I dropped a "Rod of Resurrection" on a character, renamed it as a "Rod of ReResurrection" Then I can add the "Animate Object" spell to the character and choose the "Rod of ReResurrection" as Spellcasting BUT, if I create an empty item (not dropped from compendium) I didn't find a way (even with resource added) to add it to this Spellcasting drop down list 2: How making a custom magic item I can move from character to character (similar to Compendium) Quit an important question vs the work needed to create a custom magic item

Question 1: The D&D 5e 2024 sheet does not yet have all the means to do things manually (example: Upcasting spells cannot be set up manually). So I wouldn't be surprised if that isn't the case here, but I'll take a look.  Edit: I cannot see anything in the Rod of Resurrection that is allowing spells to connect to it. So this may again be something that is behind the scenes and not yet opened for manual setup. Question 2: There is currently no method to move items from character to character on the D&D 5e 2024 sheet.
Hi Gauss, Thanks A LOT to answer my questions :) Question 1: I took the "Rod of Resurrection" as an example but my process can be followed with ANY compendium magic item with spell-like powers (I did the same customizations with a "Wand of Magic Missiles") When you have such an item in the inventory of a character, you can add ANY spell to it bacause such an item is in the Spellcasting drop down list. OK for your answer: for now, I am binded to my "compendium magic item transformation" Question 2: OK for your answer: it's just a shame.  It would be so fun to have the possibility to add a "DnD2024 item" to the journal or to a "personal compendium" then drop it to a character or even on the map
