Attendance: Clifton, Ash, Frodrick , Thruskk, Jericho Date: 26 Wealsun, 609 CY (Saturday October 11th, 2014) Recap: The group awakens the following morning and they enjoy a breakfast of eggs, bacon, and freshly brewed coffee thanks to the scholar (Jeth) who they saved the night prior. Smelling the delicious meal, two half-orcs emerge from the treeline and are offered some food after some pleasantries are exchanged. With still a day of travel ahead of them before they’re able to reach Marlgrove, the group sets out immediately after they finish eating. An hour later they converge on a small clearing in the woods. Within this clearing are five tribals – two on the forest floor, and three in the trees. A rather one-sided battle ensues, culminating with Thruskk leaping up and grabbing a twenty-five foot tall tree branch that one of the tribals is standing on. They loot the bodies and tie up the sole survivor. Ash recognizes the tattoos they all seem to bear, thanks to her familiarity with the Dreadwood. Apparently these are members are the Tribe of the Crescent, a collection of moon-worshippers who like to prey on unwary travellers. Unclaimed: 6 wooden spears, 3 flea-ridden hide breastplates, a crescent moon necklace. Inspiration awarded: Ash – for slapping some sense into Clifton (and nearly crit’ing him in the process.) Notes: Wasn’t the greatest session, but the system is new to all of us so it’s no surprise that combat was more sluggish than last time (which involved little more than attacking with spells and abilities, no real skill checks). Still, it was a learning experience, and it could have always gone worse. At least there wasn't a TPK. We’re also going to shoot for 8PM from now on, so keep that in mind, but remember that it’s always on a week-by-week basis thanks to my fluctuating work schedule.
