Incorrect number of players shown in LFG listing

This is something that has been an issue for as long as I can remember, but I didn't find an actual bug report on it. The LFG tool lists games as currently having one more player than is accurate. Perhaps the GM is included in the total here, but not on the actual game page? Regardless, as a consequence, the number of open slots shown is one lower than is accurate. This is particularly troublesome for games looking for just one more player, as the tool considers the game full and therefore doesn't show the listing at all.

This isn’t a bug. The game’s Creator & GMs are counted as Players too. It has been this way since I started using Roll20 in early 2014.  I think of it as “how many virtual seats are at the virtual tabletop?” So there’s 1 for my Pro account, 1 for my Free testing account, and 6 for players I’m recruiting.
If the LFG tool shows it correctly, then it's the game's page that is bugged, because it shows one player less and one open slot more.

Hi Mikko H., Yes, there is a discrepancy regarding how the number of players are counted. The game page and the LFG tool count things differently (one does not include the Game Creator, the other does). This is a long standing issue, and probably not going to change until/unless Roll20 revisits the Game Page and/or LFG tool design.  Take it into account when creating your LFG tool listing.  Note: if your intent is to notify Roll20 please file a Help Center report.
