Changing Core Die in Pathfinder 1E

I've spent over half an hour now trying to find how to change the core die used by the character sheets for PF from 1d20 to 3d6. Searching how to do so only returns two methods: editing the sheet using a gear that doesn't exist on the PF1 sheet and editing an attribute under Attributes & Abilities that also doesn't exist. Is this an oversite, or am I supposed to do something else?

I'm not sure, and maybe someone else will come along who plays PF1e on Roll20 and already knows a direct answer to that. My hunch is, if that is an available setting it would be a Sheet Options setting under your Game Details > Settings, and if it is not an available option then a possible way to do it is fork-off the sheet code and create your own Custom Character Sheet.  For me to investigate whether that's even something you can do, which Character Sheet exactly are you using on the game in Roll20?  It seems there are a few different versions for Pathfinder.

Hi Necrikus,  Which Pathfinder character sheet are you using? As Gold stated, there are multiple versions.  If you don't know the name please supply a screenshot of the sheet for identification.

It's the default "Pathfinder" one. Authored by Natha.

Changing the primary roll from a d20 to something other is not an option on the PF Community sheet. Fairly certain it's not an option for any of the other PF sheets either.  The PF Community sheet does expose the macros used for nearly every sheet roll and could possibly be edited to substitute "1d20" to "3d6", but YMMV given the sheet's roll template is designed around a d20. I just looked up how to change the core die on roll20 and those were things people brought up. They weren't specifically for the Pathfinder sheets, so when I checked to see if either were applicable and failed, I made this thread. Either to verify that those just weren't options for the PF sheet (which seems to be the case), or if they were, how to get to them.

There are over 1000 character sheets on Roll20. Generally each one is different as they are created by different people (mostly). What is true for one sheet may not be true for another sheet. It all depends on how the creator did things.  So any "how to" on sheets is going to probably be specific to that sheet only, although there are often general concepts which may carry from one sheet to another.

In the end, Although the Pathfinder character sheet you are using does not support changing the Core Die for sheet rolls.... You can still create your own custom Macros that use 3d6 instead of d20. They just wouldn't work as Sheet Rolls, but could work fine as Macro buttons (Macro Quick Bar, Token Action buttons, or "Abilities" tab of the character from Journals).
