PF Character Sheet crashes on clean Firefox 32.0.3

Not sure why, but as soon as I open the Pathfinder character sheet(Sam's Sheet) in FF my memory and cpu(38%) spikes on my computer. Memory usage for FF goes from around 350mb to over 2GB and sometimes it will just continue to rise to over 3GB before crashing (FF closes with box asking to send the info to Mozilla)! Sometimes it just freezes and I have to force it closed (alt-ctrl-del). If I don't interact with the sheet, the memory usually drops back down, but as soon as I try interacting with it, memory spikes again and crashes FF. Things I've tried; uninstalled/reinstalled FF w/out extensions running FF in safe mode created a new campaign with only 2 tokens on map All other interaction within roll20 works fine, even the Bio and Attributes & Abilities tabs of the character journal. 3d dice are off. Voice chat only. Everything runs smooth in Chrome. System specs: windows 8.1 pro 64-bit, i5-2550 3.4mHz, 8GB ram, AMD Radeon HD 7850(2GB) Any suggestions? Thanks

It has been noted previously that Sam's PF character sheet is a very large and complicated sheet. If you do not have a robust computer, it is recommended that you use the other PF sheet. I'm also moving this thread to the appropiate forum.

Thanks Pat. I'm sure my computer has more than enough horsepower to run the PF character sheet. It doesn't skip a beat in chrome. I just tested running two separate campaigns in two windows of chrome with the PF sheet open, no problem. Just trying to figure out why FF is crashing when using the PF sheet. FF works like a charm otherwise. Only with the sheet. Thanks

There are other threads in here that talk about his sheet. I noticed you are in a few of them and your computer is robust enough. <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1047051/pathfind" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1047051/pathfind</a>... <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1243334/pathfind" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1243334/pathfind</a>... Those are just two of the thread.and both of them are still active.

I'll have a read through. One of those threads is why I even checked the sheet in FF in the first place. Could be something on my end but... It's not a priority at all for me. I do all my roll20 stuff in chrome without issues. Just curious to why it isn't working. I believe it worked with an earlier version of FF because I used to log in as a player on FF and GM in chrome. Thanks again.

I think the latest FF version broke something but that is just my personal opinion from my research not as a moderator.
It definitely seems like maybe we've reached the limit for what is a reasonable number of fields for a sheet to have. I'll do some testing on Monday to dive in further and see if there's anything we can do on our end to mitigate this. The Pathfinder sheet is by far (like, it's not even close) the most "complicated" in terms of the number of fields it has. I think the new "NPC" sheet option just pushed it over the edge.

Well, I just loaded a Pathfinder Sheet that DOESN'T have the NPC tab and it crashes FF with a memory spike as well. Chrome has no problems with the PF sheet, so I think this must be a FF issue.

As an aside, there definately is a performance hit/cap that's probably very close to (if not already) being reached. The original test version of my 5e sheet didnt use repeating sections as a way to get around the restrictions on their use. That meant large static sections in the sheet which in total was over 20k lines of code and was almost unusable in any browser due to the performance impact that had. I never reached the stage where I had browser crashes though...i just wanted to chime in with a thought about us reaching the edge of the limitations of the current setup thats all. Hopefully you can track down whats causing this issue.

Just as a comparison, I can run the sheet just fine in FF 32.0.3 on an older Dell core-2 (win7 pro 64-bit, 4GB) computer without issue. It's not lightning, but it doesn't crash. Just wondering if there is a FF setting that I need to check. My issue on my main computer with FF sounds like an isolated incident. Local problem ?

Pat S. said: Not sure.Have you posted your console log also? It might show something there also. Not sure how to do that. I just installed firebug for FF. Will that help with a log? Thanks Update : I used ctrl-shift-K to open the console in FF and created a log of the time I joined the campaign, opened the character journal, and finally chose the PF character sheet tab. link to log: <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/wf9h6xwa59mxvq7/ff_console_log.txt?dl=0" rel="nofollow">https://www.dropbox.com/s/wf9h6xwa59mxvq7/ff_console_log.txt?dl=0</a>

Do we just chalk this one up as a "local" issue?

No, as Riley stated, the Devs are looking at the problem. Thank you for posting the log.
Are you sure you don't have any addons/extensions installed on that computer? The "ClientEvent" stuff in that log I don't think is from us...seems like something else is going on there.

The first time I noticed there was an issue with FF, the only addon that was installed was adblock plus, nothing else. I then tried disabling adblock plus, same issue with the PF sheet crashing FF. I tried safe mode, same. I then uninstalled and reinstalled FF without any addons installed (current state). The console log I posted is from that clean install. I do have Malwarebytes Premium installed on my pc and even with it's "web protection" disabled FF still crashes. UPDATE : I was wrong, I had Firebug installed as an addon. Thought I needed it to post a console log. It's off. Same problem with FF however.
