Design Feature? Tooltip Check Boxes for Show and GM Only Do Not Save When Update Default Button is Clicked

I just "discovered" the Tooltip and like the idea very much. However, there is an issue and I think the title describes it. I'll show my steps. I did search this forum for "Tooltips" and found a couple of links from 3 years ago, here's one: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/11112326/slug%7D I suppose this could be a design feature in that it could be a pain to constantly see Tooltips, I'm not sure. I think I can live with it. However, in case this is not designed behaviour, here's what I did. Step 1 Added a Tooptip for one of my players' tokens, checked the Show checkbox and clicked the Update Default Token button . I tried various combinations where I saved the Token settings first and then double clicked the token to then click on the Update Default Token button, but the issue still repeated. Step 2 Afterwards, the Tooltip shows just fine: Step 3 However, when the token is dragged off the journal again, the check marks are not saved. Windows 10 (keeping it as long as possible!), Firefox. As I said, I can live with this, but just in case it is not an "as designed" feature, I thought I should bring it up. Can;t believe I haven't used this before! LOL -- Tim

Hi Tim! There are some known issues with that Update Default token button. It's safer to open the character sheet in edit mode, and click "Use this token"witht he token selected.

You are correct. This does indeed appear to be broken regardless of method. I'll report this. For best results, it might help things if you also file a Help Center Request . That will actually create a ticket. It seems that "GM Only" is saved with the Default Token, but not the "Show Tooltip" setting. EDIT: It turns out this is a known issue, but again, another report only lends weight to the need of a fix.

Unfortunately, that replaced my whole browsing history with dozens of entries on the link and I could not go back to it. :) I then got distracted looking for some AD&D 1e stuff available. I'll have at it again. And, done & submitted.

Current workaround for this issue is to use the Edit Token Properties button on the Character Sheet. (Edit Character, click Edit Token Properties). That should save the "show" button.

I was opening the character sheet from the Journal when trying to do as Keith advised. Great, thanks! :)

Gauss has spent a lot more time tracking this issue than I have. :)
