Map Images Uploading Really Tiny

No matter what I do, any map file I upload ends up being really tiny.  The one in the image below is 1695x1541 pixels, at 70 DPI.  It is only 3MBs in size. But it ends up like this: Of course, if I try to expand it it gets pixelated.  I'm really confused.  I've never had this issue before.

Hi Craig! The size might be small if you uploaded it to the token layer. It shouldn't, but that's an old outdated behavior. But I'm at a loss to explain the loss of resolution. What was the file's type (jpg/png/etc)? Does it happen with every image? Images already in your library? Does it happen in every game? Zoom all the way out and then all the way in (this should force the VTT to serve the maximum resolution version of your image (Roll20 stores four versions). While zoomed in, select it and press "Z" to call up the preview. Still pixelated? Right click on it and open in new tab. Check the URL of the image. Near the end, it should have something like "-thumb" or "-orig",, or "-max". Which image is being served?
Thanks for responding, Keith!  It happens whether I upload a jpg or webp.  It seems to only happen on maps and yes, I'm uploading to the map layer, but its acting like a token.  Very weird.   This is what I see when zoomed all of the way in and hit "Z". It never brings up any preview.  I've tried both normal browser mode as well as incognito.

I think given the testing you've done, the next step is to capture a  Console Log ( Chrome , Firefox ) and file a  Help Center Request . There's definitely something weird going on there.

What happens if you use the Upload window rather than drag & drop to the Map layer? I’ve noticed that drag & drop to some places messes up thumbnail creation.

That shouldn't do that, but,  Check (or uncheck) the setting ... In your Game > My Settings > Graphics > Disable auto-sizing of assets dropped on Map layer and see if that makes any difference?  I mean, the behavior you're seeing doesn't match either ON or OFF for this setting, it maybe unrelated to the issue, but maybe toggling the setting to the opposite will clear the cobwebs or give a different result.
Gold, you're a lifesaver (at least, a 'game saver' ;-)).  Toggling that feature off fixed whatever I had going on.  The only thing I could pinpoint was no matter what I did, it was always setting the map image to 1x1 units, during upload or dropping on the map layer.  Thanks to all for you responses!
