They call me HeirofSolaire, and it'd be a pleasure for me to serve as your Dungeon Master. I've been running Dungeons and Dragons for just over a decade and hosting paid games for the last four. Over that time, I've been developing systems for Dungeons and Dragons Fifth Edition, especially in regards to player options. Many of these systems are still in development and are subject to change, but you will always have the opportunity to make changes when those systems are modified. In addition, I have formal acting and improv training as an entertainer. I have a deep love and passion for this hobby and I hope to share that with you! The Game: The Shield Dwarves of the Mithral Hall greedily tore deep into the earth in search of ores and gemstones. Their excavation yielded vast riches, but also unearthed a deep, narrow wound carved through miles of earth and stone. Mystified by the strange formation, Queen Dagnabbet ordered an expeditionary force to delve into the cavernous deeps laid bare by the chasm. The expeditionary force assembled 'The Great Lift of Dumathoin' over months to haul their heavy equipment into the depths. They discovered an unforgiving expanse of tunnels, caves, caverns, and a vast underground ocean that they would collectively call 'The Myrk.' Considered part of the Lowerdark, The Myrk was home to warped species of the Underdark accustomed to a more inhospitable climate, Ancient Civilizations that ruthlessly defended their territory from outsiders, and strange ruins from a bygone age. Intrigued by their discovery, the expeditionary force would construct 'The Shrouded Reach' at the base of The Great Lift of Dumathoin to act as a base of operations. As the Shrouded Reach neared completion, the expeditionary force discovered a strange, necrotic blight spreading through the rock. Prolonged exposure to this blight caused illness, infections, and other maladies among the sages and researchers in charge of studying the phenomenon. The expeditionary force was ordered to return to the Shrouded Reach, and the Queen drafted an arrangement with the 'Lords' Alliance.' In the coming weeks, a contract would be posted across the major cities all over the Sword Coast; a promise of wealth, glory, and more that could be found at the Mithral Hall, awarded to those who would brave The Myrk. You are prospective adventurers or adventurous types answering the call to action. Your reasons are your own. Perhaps you are merely seeking wealth awarded by the Dwarves or plundered from The Myrk? You could be seeking knowledge and secrets long forgotten in the dark abyss below the earth? Maybe a person of faith seeking to cleanse Toril of the blight? You could be a criminal seeking to earn a pardon from the Queen on behalf of the Lords' Alliance for your involvement? Whatever your reasons are, you find yourself in a carriage with others enroute to the Mithral Hall, your new associates. What will you find in the desolate expanse of The Myrk? Come find out with us! Themes: This game will be difficult, but rewarding in its difficulty. Creatures will act appropriately to their nature and the situation, which can include finishing off a wounded character. This is a Sandbox, so your decisions are yours to make. Roleplay will likely be a large focus alongside exploration with combat being rarer than normal conventions suggest. Creativity (within reason) is rewarded and experimentation (within reason) is encouraged! This game is intended for individuals age 18 and older. There will be adult themes and there will be vivid descriptions of grotesque scenes from time to time. These themes will not be the major focus, but they will be present.
