Possible? I like to use isometric maps when I can, like Ravenloft maps.
Intriguing idea. How easy is it to find suitable tokens and tiles?

If you don't mind not having snapping enabled, you can already create and use isometric maps like the one Patrick linked to. (Just make sure the grid's also disabled in your page settings) Enabling some sort of isometric snapping would be really tricky, I would think, for tokens. Tokens sitting on an isometric map tend to take up two or more squares in height. Since everything snaps to the center of the graphic, I'd suspect tokens would snap in really undesired locations on the map.
I am not a programmer, so I don't know if snapping would be easy to implement, but I think it wouldn't be very different from hexes, where two rows are also staggered.
I just want to say that I support the implementation of this feature. It would be a smart addition.
Especially considering the fact that it's a pain in the ass to find a good isometric grid image. Because I spent a while getting it right, attached is an un-antialiased transparent 1024x512 8x8 grid in the PNG format with no vertical lines. It will tile perfectly on both axis, and it doesn't have a vanishing point.
