Tuesday January
15, 2019 Recap:
S108_Fatal_Continues.... The
Brigade defeated all the Femmes except for Peekaboo, Infama, and Wood
Nymph. Only Infama continued to fight while the other two seemed to
be running away. Peekaboo was invisible while Wood Nymph merged with
the ground and escaped through the earth.
Peekaboo
put an illusionary constructs behind the wheels of both the vans the
Femmes arrived in, having them start the engines to appear they were
going to use the cars to flee.
While
the Brigade was dealing with the get-away vehicles and fighting
Infama who seems to be indestructible and incredibly strong Wood
Nymph managed to carry the rest of the Femmes to freedom.
PRIMUS
was called to take Infama into custody. While she was being
restrained she taunted them that her boyfriend, the even more
powerful Uberman, would free her.
When
PRIMUS arrived they tried sleep gas and other means of restraint on
her but nothing worked. They suggested using a 'Hot-Sleep' system but
they are not standard equipment. They asked Big Tuna if he would help
get her to the PRIMUS facility in Manhattan. He agreed.
Big
Tuna carries the naked Infama into the PRIMUS building where they put
a 'Hot-Box' rig on her head. It proved to be useless. They were not
able to find a room that could contain her physical might so as a
last resort they implemented the Juggernaut protocols. They had Big
Tuna toss her into a room and activated the zero-G system. She is
suspended in the center of the room, too far from the walls to touch,
so she can not tear through them to escape. Leaving her neutralized.
PRIMUS
asked who hired the Fatal Femmes to kill the Brooklyn Brigade but no
one on the team knew who it was.

January

regards to the Special Edition of the Daily Bugle
P aladin
goes on r ecord
to the GM that
Jessica Black's assertion that the Brigade saved OPSEK has
no supporting evidence and there is no way she could be aware of the
activities on board the space station.
The
Brigade used the courier ship that the Count of Ubudgin gave them
to stablize the decaying orbit of the OPSEK station.
Tuesday
night finds Tyler in the arms of his fiance Amy. They are
celebrating the Brigade's victory over the Fatel Femmes and their
engagement.
Paladin
goes back to the base where he reads the Daily Bugle's Tuesday
Special Edition.
He
calls Prestige Legal and speaks to his lawyer Harold Leland about the
report about Peregrine's Perch article. He (Paladin) want to know
more about the investigation into the Brigade by Executive Sanction.
Leland says as far as he can tell there is no evidence that the
Sanction is looking into the Brigade's activities.
Leland
offers Paladin his tentative congratulations on the birth of his
daughter. Paladin is confused for a moment so Leland continues.
Cherry Darling gave birth to a healthy near-human baby girl. She then
left the hospital AMA (Against Medical Advice) but not before listing
Paladin as the baby's father. Now according to New York law her
assertion is considered to be an absolute fact BUT we can have your
name expunged freeing you from obligation to the child. All that is
required is that you contest her claim and a simple paternity test to
prove it.
Paladin
can be free of the 'burden' in a few hours.
Paladin
declines taking that action, so far.
He
asks what about Cherry? If Paladin contests being the baby's father
baby Jane-Doe Darling will considered abandoned 72 hours after Cherry
left her behind at the hospital. When that happens the baby will be
turned over to the state for care and Cherry will be charged with
Child Abandonment if she fails to return,This is a class 4 felony. He
tells Leland that Cherry has to be found. Leland says that he will
assign one of the firms investigators to find her.
Leland
also tells Paladin that Sacred Heart would like him to contact them.
Among other things the baby girl needs a name. Paladin tells Leland
to let tehm know that he is coming.
When
he arrives at Sacred Heart to see his 'daughter' he asks when she can
be released to come 'home'. The staff tells him that they usually
like to wait 3 days to make sure the baby is healthy but in baby
Jane-Doe case she seems exceptionally healthy, alert, attentive, and
responsive. Plus Paladin is a super hero she could not be in better
hands as far as the hospital is concerned.
They
have a bag that they give to every baby at discharge, it contains
some diapers, a baby bottle, some formula, and a hand made woven hat
for the for the baby. Pink for girls and blue for boys, baby Jane-Doe
got a pink one, of course.
They
ask Paladin for a name for his daughter, he names her Sarah, Sarah
Darling.
Paladin
calls the base and has Preston put Babs on the phone. He asks her to
get a room ready for the baby. Babs says she will recruit Preston and
Rocko to help and everything should be ready within an hour...if they
know what is good for them.
Babs
gets formula, diapers, baby monitors, crib, playpen, stroller, a
papoose baby carrier, bottles, bottle brushes,
Rocko
gets a half dozen baby outfits, a dozen baby blankets, a couple
mobiles, rattles, plushies, and baby books for story-time.
Preston
gets baby fresh scent laundry soap, bath soap, diaper rash medicine,
air freshener, and baby powder.
Network
reprograms the robot tiger to be Sarah's guardian, protector, and
playmate.
Impact
goes to see Chiasia. She is surprised but extremely happy that he
actually showed up. 'Girls in my line of work are used to men lying
to them.' They decide to go to a 'great little Chinese' place near
her apartment but before they go she has something to tell him that
might make him change his mind about the plans he has for the
evening.
Before
the Brigade secured their freedom from Bloodmoon he had Aardwolf use
his stable, some 20 women and a handful of men, to spread the Glove
Cleaner spores to their 'customers'.
The
Johns (and Janes) breathed in the spores and more of them were dusted
on the clients clothes so they were carry them home, work, or
wherever exposing random people to Glove Cleaner.
She
knows that Aardwolf was spreading the virus but she thinks he stopped
after Bloodmoon's control over them was broken by The Brigade
securring the stabilization serum formula and means of production and
giving them to Aardwolf.
Bloodmoon's
kindred need to take a weekly stabilization serum otherwise they will
continue their evolution to their base animal forms. In Chiasia's
case that would be a house cat.
She
and all other members of the Kindred are immune to Glove Cleaner. Chiasia
expected Impact to run off to save the world and abandon their date
after hearing her confession. Instead he said that sometimes saving
the world can wait until tomorrow and they went on their date anyway.
She
was so happy that she offered to pay for dinner. Impact refused
saying that he was taught the gentleman paid for dinner. He did offer
to get her a t-shirt that said 'Saving the World Can Wait Til After
Dinner', but she said she would never wear it (or even shirts in
general). Impact said he would get her a hoodie instead.
Impact
and Paladin are considering producing the t-shirt and adding it to
the Brooklyn Brigade Merchandise product line.
Big
Tuna spent the afternoon at Ryker's keeping Infama from being able to
escape. After she was secured by the Juggernaut protocols he was able
to work on the trouble in Chinatown and Little Tokya. He review the
information published about the murder of ATF agents, their families,
and friends last New Year's Eve and compared it to the claim Karsuou
Yamada made that he single handedly killed the 21 people in daring
one night lightning strike of vengeance for the death of his brother
after the cigarette raid last December 18 th .
The
information was inconsistent at the very least.
Big
Tuna reaches out to his friend in the FBI, Jimmy Woo. Jimmy listening
to what Okina Maguro (Big Tuna) says and agrees that it does not
sound plausible and will take an unofficial look into it.
Meanwhile
Network gets a confirmation notice that Murderworld Inc. has received
payment and is begging preparation for the guest of honor's party. As
the host for the party, the paying customer, will receive a complete
recording of the event and a commemorative coffee table book filled
with photos and a written account of what the guest of honor
experiences during the party.
Network
also starts working on developing, or finding a vendor who can
provide, a seismic tracking system. He wants to be able to track Wood
Nymph as she moves through the ground.
After
spending time with Chiasia Impact has some thoughts on Bloodmoon's
plan to spread the Glove Cleaner though sexual coupling. He suggests
that maybe the person who is getting exposed to the spores isn't the
intended target. Maybe it is the victim's future offspring.
If
this is the case Bloodmoon might have his vision on the extreme long
game.
After
getting Sarah settled Paladin puts in a call to Doctor McQuark. He
tells McQuark that Revenant is sending a bottle of white wine to
Lydia. Then they settle into talking about Glove Cleaner.
The
Brigade has given McQuark a large supply of Glove Cleaner spores
giving him the material needed to produce the vaccine en mass but he
does not have the facilities to do mass production.
Paladin
asks about giving the production means to the government? McQuark
agrees they would be able to produce the vaccine in huge quantities
but suspects that the President, Congress, the Supreme Court,
followed by the military and law enfocement would get the priority
for being inoculated. They
then discuss if the process that creates the Glove Cleaner could be
perverted into other uses. McQuark said it absolutely could. The
process could produce terrible biological weapons that make make his
worst nightmares pale in comparison.
The
Glove Cleaner procedures could lead to cures in cancer to wipe out
all life on this planet should it fall into the wrong hands. The next
question would be 'whose hands are the right ones?' There
are no right hands.
They
decide to keep the secret of the Glove Cleaner to themselves. McQuark
has a sigh of relief that it is a good thing that Stephen Fuergeson
is out of the country. Fuergeson is one of the few people that could
create a air-born contagious version of the Glove Cleaner.
Paladin
tells McQuark that Fuergeson is back in the country and has been for
a few days. McQuark is concerned by this news but what are the odds
that he would become involved in the Glove Cleaner issue? Practically
zero, which means it is an absolute certainty.
Considering
the dangers posed by just the means of producing the vaccine McQuark
and Paladin decide it can not be released. They will keep it to
themselves. Paladin tells McQuark to start acquiring what he needs to
go into mass production of the vaccine, he will finance it as best he
can. McQuark pledges his pocket book volunteering to help cover the
expenses.
Paladin
laments that after the death of Father Benedict of France and the
mass murders of the rest of the Defenders of the Cross by vampires,
werewolves, and other creatures of the night, he is the last
surviving member of his order.
Paladin
DID NOT REALZE that he was the sole surviving member of his order,
The Defenders of the Cross.
With
the baby at the Bunker they are considering hiring a nanny for round
the clock care. For now Babs and Rocko are planning to taking turns
caring for little Sarah.
Wednesday
January
16, 2019 0800AM Babs
and Rocko are taking turns caring for and fussing over baby Sarah.
NYPART
officers show up at the Bunker; Lt. House, 2 Turtle Armor Agents, and
5 PART officers. They want to question Revenant. Paladin tells them
Revenant is not on site but he will come to the PART offices at 9AM.
House
accepts Paladin at his word and the PART officers leave.
Paladin
calls Revenant who is at his 'Haunt' with Amy. They are in bed and
are very surprised to hear the police want to question Revenant about
something, something that they haven't given any details on.
After
he agrees to see the police Amy is incensed that they want to talk to
him. While they are getting dressed and grabbing a quick breakfast
Tyler tells her about the possible, possible, side effects of the
dietary supplement her dad developed. In time it will build up in the
system of the people using until it becomes fatally addictive.
At
first she isn't concerned because she has been taking it for a long
time. Then the realization that she gave the supplement to Ellie
(Tyler's mom) and her dad has been taking it forever!
Revenant
has to go see the police and she will go to Ellie's and get the
unused supplement from her and then go warn her dad! Everyone has to
stop taking the supplement and needs to go see a doctor.
Revenant
tell Doctor McQuark they are on their way. His office is located way
out of town. It is where he rebuilt after Bloodmoon tried to kill him
and burn down his lab.
9AM Harold
Leland meets Revenant at PART HQ. Lt
House starts by asking Revenant to state where he was at various
times and if he could provide proof. Revenant said he was with his
girl friend. House wanted her name but Leland interjected that could
compromise Revenant's secret id.
Leland
and Revenant wanted to know why he was being questioned. House
produced a photo of someone in armor that appeared to be the same as
Revenant's except it was red instead of white. The
Red-Revenant reached through the walls of safes and extracted
sensitive and valuable materials. The victims so far have been
LexCorp, Wayne Enterprises, Eclipse Industries, and MBI.
House
asked if the Red-Revenant's powers were similar to Revenant's own and
he said yes, they were.
Leland
asked if Revenant was under arrest, House said no he was not but
warned him against leaving town in case they had more questions for
him.
As
the left the PART HQ Leland asked him if anyone else had access to
his tech. Revenant said he would start checking his father's old
files to see what his one-time employer might have.
He
then called Amy and told her what was going on. She said that was
stupid there were any number of people who could have done it, the
Martian Manhunter for instance is a shape shifter who can turn
invisible and phase through walls.
Amy,
Ellie, and Hank (his fiance, his mom, and Amy's dad, respectfully)
are almost at McQuark's. She will call him when she has an update of
their conditions.
Network
and Big Tuna are prying into the death of Karsuou
Yamada, the self confessed killer in the New Year's Eve ATF slayings.
While Big Tuna is looking into the confession Network is looking into
his death while in police custody.
The
local police are sharing jurisdiction with Federal enforcement so the
FBI has copies of the security footage outside the holding cell where
Yamada was being housed. Network used his link with the FBI to access
the recordings.
The
recordings are not ideal, it is a series of snapshots every 10 to 15
seconds. The suspect is lead to his cell at 0230 and his mutilated
body is found by police at 0600. The hallway is empty and vacant
between those two time stamps and there is no audio accompaniment.
Network
painstakingly goes through them frame by frame, modifying the zoom
and magnification to emsure nothing was missed. Then he saw it.
At
0330 a small metallic 'tail' was caught entering Yamada's cell
through the food gap near the floor. Network redoubled his scouring
of the tape and finds a metallic bulbous 'head' exiting the cell
using the same egress at 0430.
Network
brings this information to Big Tuna who decides to sit on it, for
now. He wants the authorities to find it themselves so that they will
not know that Network (or anyone else) has pried into their systems.
If the authorities knew about the security breech it could cause the
evidence (the 'mouse') to be called into question. The
team debates why did Yamada confess? During his deposition Yamada
claimed he was confessing to prevent Law Enforcement from going after
the Surenos and the Tsukihama-gumi clan with lethal vengeance in
their hearts. He alone was the executioner and with his confession
the circle of death is closed. Confession is good for the soul and
he wanted the those responsible for his brother's death to know it
was Karsuou Yamada who beat them!
After
Revenant is questioned by the police he contacts Network. He knows
that Network has a habit of creating blueprints of tech that the
group encounters. He want to know if the team's cyberkinetic made any
copies of, or blueprints detailing, his power suit.
Network
says no, he hasn't.
Revenant
asks Network if he might be willing to crack computer networks
including military systems to help him find who has a copy of the
Revenant armor. Starting with the computer systems of his father's
old company.
Paladin
overhears the conversation between Revenant and Network. He has
Revenant demonstrate his suits stealth systems rendering himself
invisible. Paladin then sends this video to Lt. House proving that if
Revenant did not want be seen he would not have been seen (or
recorded as the case may be). Paldin warns House that arresting
Revenant on such flimsy evidence would be more than just embarassing
for PART and the the DA's office.
House,
quite coldly, tells Paladin that as a officer of the law his, and his
department, job is to gather the evidence. It will be up to the DA's
office to charge or not charge based on the strength of the case.
House
also tells Paladin that PART and NYPD might have more than just a
picture of Red-Revenant phases through safes and stealing data from
LexCorp, Wayne Enterprises, MBI, and Eclipse Industries.
The
prosecutor in-line to handle Revenant's case, one way or another, is
ADA Gabrielle
Katina Perez.
She
is the same prosecutor that handeld the Constable / Bear trial. She
landed a conviction but she was not satisfied with the results. She
wanted capital murder and only managed to prove intentional
man-slaughter.
