How to Level

******READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH FOR LIMITATIONS ABOUT LEVELING DUE TO MASSIVE AMOUNT OF XP****** So you have reached enough experience points to level. Congratulations! The following is a quick guide on what you need to do to level. Roll to increase your maximum hit points. Everyone rolls a 1d6 and adds/subtracts any bonuses/penalties from Constitution. Also add +1 if you are a fighting-man, or subtract -1 if you are are magic-user or thief. Clerics just take a straight 1d6 with constitution bonuses only. Replace your saving throw with what is appropriate for your level and class (basically just lower it by one each time you level): Adjust your "To Hit" chart, its at the bottom of the Planet Eris Character sheet. Refer to the chart below: Your "To Hit" Chart should look like this: 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 The bottom row of numbers change each level for Fighting-Men, every other level for Clerics and Thieves, and every three levels for Magic-Users. The bottom number is the result of what you roll on your d20 to hit, and the top number is the Armor Class you hit. 4. Look at your class' Advancement Table and write down how much experience you need to reach the next level; use the charts below to help. 5. If you are a Magic-User or Cleric, you will get an additional spell memorization slot. Look at the chart to see what level spell it is. If you don't know any spells for that level, you can try to travel and find and buy a magic spellbook or cleric scroll that contains the set of spells. This is something you need to roleplay with me however, it can be difficult to find these some time, and there is danger in travelling. Below is a list of what you can expect to pay for an entire collection of spells for that level. 6. That's it for leveling. Nothing else changes. Level Limitations Characters may only level up once per adventure. If you receive enough experience to go up two levels, you will only keep the experience that brings you one xp away from that second level. For example, a level 1 fighting-man receives 100,000xp; that character will only keep 3,999xp, the other 96,001xp will be lost forever and ignored. The fighting-man will be level 2, and one experience point away from level 3.
