Drawing Lag

Hi, all! I have encountered severe lag when drawing on maps with drawing tools today. The delay is insane (for up to 30 seconds at times).  Did anyone else experience this? Also, when drawing with black as main color and transparent as outlier color, my lines and other shapes have strange gray frames around them. Was there an update during the week? Should I submit a bug ticket?

Hi Modrin! It does sound like a good candidate for a  Help Center Request . Can you post a screen shot of the strange gray frames?
Hi, Keith! The frames are not bothering me much at this time, but they are strange.  The lag in moving objects/painting anything on the map does. I have no idea how it is going to look from my players´ perspective. Waiting 30s for each move on the map is a pain.
Another one, hopefully clearer.

Try toggling Experimental Performance Enhancements on your settings tab, under graphics. I am seeing a number of weird reports that this is fixing. If it works, please let me know and I can pass on the report.
I have disabled Experimental Performance Enhancement, which forced a refresh of the page. And after that, the gray frames AND drawing delay disappeared.  Until today, I didn´t know this setting existed, so I certainly didn´t enable/disable it during the week, yet the game I ran last Sunday was fine. It might be a good idea for the team to check their last update.  And thank you for the quick response.

I and other forum champs relay such reports to the team, so they are certainly aware and investigating. One thing I discovered with a different EPE bug was that once I toggled EPE back on, the problem did not recur. It might be worth checking, since EPE does improve performance in other aspects. If you decide to text, let me know the results.

We are actively working to identify and bash any bugs related to Performance Enhancements - as Keith mentioned, it has performance improvements that we want our entire community to benefit from! Modron - could you share the game name and page where you experienced this so we could review the challenges you were seeing with Performance Enhancements on? Could you also let us know what browser you were using?
Modron -  We pushed out a fix in the last 30 minutes that should solve the aforementioned issues with "Performance Enhancements" settings. If you're open to giving it anther try, you can toggle it back on in VTT Settings > Graphics section to take advantage of the overall performance benefits. We would still appreciate your game name and page so we can use it in the future for testing! Please do reach out and let us know if there's anything else wonky that you're noticing! Lavi I ran a game yesterday with Experimental Performance Enhancement toggled off, as I didn´t want to experiment with options just before the session and toggling it off solved issues for me.  I used a page inside the Hell or Highwater game for all the testing. The exact page is called Room 27 Butler. I usually draw minimalistic, but functionable maps directly on Roll20 and the severe lag was a big issue for me and potentially my players later down the line. Today I toggled the Experimental Performance Enhancement back on and it seems the issue is solved. Moving drawn objects around is once again smooth and fast. Additionally, gray frames are nowhere to be found. Everything seems to be in order now.  If you need any more info, let me know.  As an example of what gray frames did to some non-linear objects before, have this screenshot (taken from the same game - page name Room 5 Shargaas Sanctuary)

The "gray frames" looks an awful lot like an antialiasing issue, which a buggy graphic implementation could absolutely have exacerbated.
