Very interested! By the Light of the Emperor, your timing is impeccable! I actually came to the forum just now to look for a 40K game and ask folks whether they prefer W&G or IM so I could get something together, although I would rather not GM as I am a perpetual forever-GM. I'd love to see what you have in store! Having played both iterations, I can provide some insight for others interested: Imperium Maledictum plays like a combo of Call of Cthulhu and the Warhammer Fantasy d100 game that's been around for ages. It's great for Grimdark and the system is super-interesting, and it's as-crunchy-as-you-make-it, in that rules are fairly modular, but if you want a ruling it's probably in one of the books...totally a great game to run and play, but it's more for 'normal-ish' characters as opposed to Astartes or Callidus Assassins...the Patron system is AWESOME and one of my favorite aspects of IM, and one of my fave new RPG concepts of the past few years! I love the new Inquisition and AdMech books that came out (I'd be interested in playing a tech-priest, perhaps...Machine God be praised!) Wrath & Glory plays more like the tabletop 40K wargame, with D6 dice pools for attacks and many of the same attributes as 40K 7th and 8th editions (WS, BS, Initiative, etc). It reminds me of a cross between the Free League style of d6 rules, mixed with Savage Worlds. It has a unique Tier system that makes it so you can play at various power levels, meaning in this game, if a higher tier is decided, people can play Astartes or Assassins or even Eldar Corsairs! I myself enjoy both for different reasons...ImpMal for the grimdark investigations, and that lingering sense of despair and corruption, where you feel the crushing weight of an entire galaxy's worth of indifference to life presses you down, yet you persevere and complete the missions in spite of it...but I like W&G if the campaign is going for a bombastic, balls-to-the-wall scenario. Actual tactical combat with consequences is more possible in W&G, and the action is more engaging than ImpMal. I hope that makes sense! Are the players going to be working for a single Patron, sent to do their dirty work in a Hive City, tracking a murder or McGuffin? Imperium Maledictum would be preferred. Are the players going to be storming an Ork outpost on one of Armageddon's moons, like a small Kill-Team? Wrath & Glory, please! My availability is fairly open, I am EST zone and work early AM weekdays! (window being 6pm-10pm weekdays, weekends pretty open). Let me know what your planned schedule looks like: Duration of session, start/end time, etc. I'll be anointing my cogitator with sacred unguents and chanting Binharic hymns to the Omnissiah whilst awaiting your response!
