LFP and inputs, 40k rpg preferences between W & G and IM.

Okay that says it all and hopefully has drawn you to this post. For anyone interested in I would like to run Wrath & Glory or Imperium Maledictum. Would you prefer Epic 40k or darker grim? Most importantly "FREE" , as good as I might be, I could never charge-no hate though. I will check the post daily to respond to questions and see what everyone wants to play.
Hi. I am willing to try Wrath and Glory. It depends on when you want to start and what time. Haven't played WaG but have been to other 40k games. So I can play on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays between 8pm and 12pm CET time.
If you're willing to do anything starting in AM by CET time, I'd be interested. While I'm somewhat familiar with both IM & W&G and open to either*, I'd prefer IM. *both systems can vary in tone and direction quite a bit depending on where the group and GM go with it.
Very interested! By the Light of the Emperor, your timing is impeccable! I actually came to the forum just now to look for a 40K game and ask folks whether they prefer W&G or IM so I could get something together, although I would rather not GM as I am a perpetual forever-GM. I'd love to see what you have in store! Having played both iterations, I can provide some insight for others interested: Imperium Maledictum plays like a combo of Call of Cthulhu and the Warhammer Fantasy d100 game that's been around for ages. It's great for Grimdark and the system is super-interesting, and it's as-crunchy-as-you-make-it, in that rules are fairly modular, but if you want a ruling it's probably in one of the books...totally a great game to run and play, but it's more for 'normal-ish' characters as opposed to Astartes or Callidus Assassins...the Patron system is AWESOME and one of my favorite aspects of IM, and one of my fave new RPG concepts of the past few years! I love the new Inquisition and AdMech books that came out (I'd be interested in playing a tech-priest, perhaps...Machine God be praised!) Wrath & Glory plays more like the tabletop 40K wargame, with D6 dice pools for attacks and many of the same attributes as 40K 7th and 8th editions (WS, BS, Initiative, etc). It reminds me of a cross between the Free League style of d6 rules, mixed with Savage Worlds. It has a unique Tier system that makes it so you can play at various power levels, meaning in this game, if a higher tier is decided, people can play Astartes or Assassins or even Eldar Corsairs! I myself enjoy both for different reasons...ImpMal for the grimdark investigations, and that lingering sense of despair and corruption, where you feel the crushing weight of an entire galaxy's worth of indifference to life presses you down, yet you persevere and complete the missions in spite of it...but I like W&G if the campaign is going for a bombastic, balls-to-the-wall scenario. Actual tactical combat with consequences is more possible in W&G, and the action is more engaging than ImpMal. I hope that makes sense! Are the players going to be working for a single Patron, sent to do their dirty work in a Hive City, tracking a murder or McGuffin? Imperium Maledictum would be preferred. Are the players going to be storming an Ork outpost on one of Armageddon's moons, like a small Kill-Team? Wrath & Glory, please! My availability is fairly open, I am EST zone and work early AM weekdays! (window being 6pm-10pm weekdays, weekends pretty open). Let me know what your planned schedule looks like: Duration of session, start/end time, etc. I'll be anointing my cogitator with sacred unguents and chanting Binharic hymns to the Omnissiah whilst awaiting your response!
Ooooh this is very tempting! Like a "lost" piece of definitely not heretical technology. My vote would be for W&G over IM preferably just for a bit of a tone palate cleanser of sorts and I have a one-shot's worth of experience with that system at least. Decently versed in the lore/setting/other media, never played the tabletop (yet), mostly due to my proven lack of mini painting abilities. However, all of that is to say that with an upcoming move and job change on the horizon my schedule isn't as flexible as normal, so Sunday afternoons/evenings CST would be ideal but I could possibly make Mon-Wed evenings work depending, 6:30 CST would be the earliest I could make it. Armoring myself in Faith that this works out and blessings of the Imperium upon you all!

Hi, long term 40k enthusiast and veteran of the long GM, ive played in games lasting 2 years, 1 year and hosted several games myself. Sometimes i experiment with the idea of just running my own custom campaign repeatedly... but i really prefer to a player and work with the GM as a sort of minute-taker secretarius that pulls an assist in knocking these Acolytes into line ;P Disclamer i am a Brit. My favourite system by far is FFG RT, however given a choice between the two Imperium Maledictum and W&G i think i'd probably prefer the Imperium Maledictum. However there is a slight incentive for W&G... i actually own a copy, hah! Looking forward to putting my line in the sand. Probably as an Acolyte with aspirations to Rogue Trade. (Having a ship building system is highly suggestivly suggested btw) Thought for the day: The wize man learns from the deaths of others. The Emperor protects.

The Acolyte Arvo Brohn Looked over the landing pad from a cramped skew of a regulation sized firing slit from the dark grey 'ferro' tenement he was occluded to as part of his duties to the Emperor... Ambiance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtnDw8U6eb0 Upon the bench which he called a bed -the only furniture in the room- aside from a book shelf sunk into the concrete itself he surveyed his auto-quill typists unit number 7, and the fresh brass exterior of its keys, ink-well and tray... Reaching into his greatcoat he pulled out from it his Stormchild revolver and flicked open the cylinder... usually he kept it loaded as some of the tenants from down the hall had been heard brawling like fresh recruits in the ring... Pumping the ejector all of the beautiful brass of these life-preservers came sliding into his palm and he checked each round for nicks and scratches that would degrade his maximum range -and spotted one-. Gently fingering the fat wedge of the bullet into the over sized pockets on the greatcoat, he selected a round at random from the other pocket. Inspected it. And slid it back into the cylinder. The tenants from down the hall were talking with raised voiced again. He thought to himself “tis the way of man to consider each personal battle his own private crusades… we are a truckulent lot…” Flicking out how wrist-chrono he could tell that he was getting close to the hour he was supposed to leave. Preparing well in advance he knew he’d have all the time in the world to make his way to the dingy art-deco diner. One of the finest presservations of this planets booming economy. An economy he would ensure would boom again… His Medi-skull hovered obediently silent and a noiseless sheen of straight silver reflected off of its injector. "Et tu, what are you loaded with?" +++Et tu is registering commands+++ But what are you loaded with? +++Et tu is loaded with hypeodermic synringe+++ But -what- are you loaded with? +++Correct command number recieved+++ +++Et tu is loaded with mixture of stimm and rainbow counterceptiks+++ "Ahah...." Brohn considered the medi-skull as his get out of truble card should the nights proceedings end... poorly... and he was found spewing in a pool of his own blood or bleeding in a pool of his own spew or whichever way fate had him... He didnt much trust or fancy the admechanicus, too many promising typists in the pools at the administratum adepts lost their digits to improperly maintained material and the admech was always only too enthhusiastic to replace bits of them with machine... and the machines themselves, smoothly transitioning mankinds emotive qualities from one gear to the next with propaganda was an endevour he always theought vain, he thought "mankinds mind always changed gear perfectly... is it not the way of the Emperor? Ave Emperator"... he addad quite assured his inquisitor master would have telepathy aimed at his head throughout periods of the day, and he apreciated soothing the psychic choirs in such ways... they said they found his mind very soothing... Should these ruffians from a corridoors ways-down rectify their indifferences be it fair or foul --still--- rough justice is preferable to injustice and as they smooth out their -wrinkle in time- this is to be marked improvment from warcry. He had already noted that Et tu had been evasive from his questioning, he'd had half a mind to take it for recalibration but then remebered this'd only give a mechanicus yet more time to make it even furthermore evasive so struck it from his list of things to do. The device could be judged to be of foul mood, but its automatic responses he had already guessed utilising his fine adeptus administratium mind, -much finer- he though than those wurring with cogs and spewing binery which he determined to be equally of foul mouthed! He determined and enjoyed to make his enquiries with an honest ecclesiarchy priest than these sort.

My Noospheric stream has identified you as a fellow Veteran of the Long War and likely ally in future encounters. Hopefully things work out in this game...I'm down for either ImpMal or W&G as a system, but ultimately the FF 40K games were my favorite as well! Dark Heresy in my case. In the off-chance things don't pan out here, hit me up on Discord!
