I am looking to gauge interest for my next homebrew campaign.. I currently have two campaign settings ready to go, but I can only run one for now. I want to see which one people are most interested in. This will be a primary Discord-run campaign. I would prefer to use DnDBeyond, but due to the nature of the Towers campaign, it would need to use Roll20 for the character sheet. Either one would be DnD 5.5 aka 2024 with some basic homerules. If you are interested you can reach out to me here or message me in Discord at duskd3mon Option 1: The Sundering Welcome to Aranor , a world broken by catastrophe. Long ago, a mighty civilization tried to harness the power of an ancient artifact known as the Heart of the World . They failed, and the result was The Sundering . Continents shattered. Islands were hurled into the sky. Ancient cities were lost. Magic became unstable and unpredictable. Below, the seas turned into a violent, nearly impassable expanse known as the Churn . Above, the skies became the new frontier. Now the world is full of: Floating islands and shattered continents Gravity-powered skyships Sky pirates Griffin knights Ancient ruins and lost civilizations Cults, monsters, and rival factions struggling for power This campaign is a high-adventure fantasy setting focused on exploration, discovery, sky travel, faction conflict, and ruin delving in a world that was broken and never truly healed. Option 2: Towers of Astra Terra The world didn’t end. It just changed. Seventeen black Towers appeared across Earth without warning. For three months, they stood silent. Then the gates opened — and monsters poured out. Cities fell. Nations collapsed. Humanity adapted. Now the Towers remain open. Inside them is a system — a status screen only climbers can see. Monsters respawn. Death behaves differently. Weapons forged from monster remains are stronger than steel. The deeper you climb, the more reality bends. The first two floors forgive you. After that, death is permanent. This is a homebrew West Marches-style campaign with a classless, build-your-own-power progression system . There are no traditional classes. You evolve. Characters begin as trained Tower climbers with standardized gear, no installed Traits, and a few empty Trait slots. Everyone starts as human , but over time you may gain the chance to alter yourself through Traits, monster drops, strange powers, and other discoveries inside the Tower. That means your race, abilities, and overall build can change as your character progresses. You might become: A frontline juggernaut with scaled skin and reactive armor A teleporting assassin built from aberration cores A summoner binding creatures from fallen worlds A spell-engine powered by harvested mana organs Something no one has ever seen before This campaign leans into progression fantasy, dark sci-fi mystery, build experimentation, survival, and long-term character evolution. What I Want to Know If you are interested, comment or message me with: Which campaign would you rather play: The Sundering or Towers of Astra Terra What kind of character would you want to make Whether you prefer a more traditional adventure campaign or a more experimental progression-heavy one Both are homebrew. Both are settings I am excited to run. I can only start with one , so I want to see which one gets the most interest.
