TL;DR: EU-Timezone is a soft requirement. Weekends preferred but evening during Weekdays is doable. Almost no experience DM'ing, so you know what you're getting into. Discord for Voice and Organizing. No DnD / PF. Open for system recommendations, got Fabula Ultima and Heroes of Lite as back-ups. With the TL;DR at top hopefully answering the most pressing questions and letting you know whether it's worth reading through the following post or not, hey, hi, hello, nice to meet you. I'll keep it short on the about me bit. I've done TTRPG stuff on and off over the past decade and a half, mostly as a player, few times as the DM, and I'm looking to take another crack at the whole DM thing. I'm from Eastern Europe so GMT+2 is the timezone to compare to and I work a regular 9-5 during the week with the weekend free. As a player, you can categorize me as the "shy, bumbling fool" one, the one that was mostly along for the ride with the group, had fun just vibing with the plot and folks, and was usually way too anxious or stupid to participate in the big RP moments a lot, let alone take the lead. So all in all, that combined with my inexperience in DMing in general and limited system knowledge, you know what you're going to get involved with here. That's right, a bloody trainwreck of a campaign, but it's going to be a funny roast session at the least. Let's get to the meat of the advert to see if it interests you. What system do you want to use for this? I have both Fabula Ultima (A fair bit of experience with it and very recently at that) and Heroes of Lite (No actual experience playing it) as systems to use as a fall-back option, to get that out of the way as a start. That said, I am very open to recommendations! My main interest is in something that is more Lite on its rules but that offers a really smooth combat flow with the possibility for wacky / fun / so dumb it comes back around to being good options during said combat. Fabula Ultima, for example, ticks all of these boxes for me, with its JRPG-inspired combat system while Heroes of Lite seems to be the same way, with its simplification of the Fire Emblem system. So hey, if you've got a system you're in love with but it falls in a niche, or something you've really wanted to try playing out but have not gotten the chance to yet? Give me the name and let's see if it's something that resonates with me and everybody else that'd like to play! My only hard rule is that I'm not interested in anything that is DnD / PF or anything that might as well be DnD / PF with the serial number filed off. The fantasy setting itself is cool! I'm just sick of seeing 5E and 1E/2E and its derivatives everywhere. What timeslot are you planning for this game? The hope is that it happens sometimes during the afternoon or early evening on weekends, as I thankfully have nothing pre-planned to take over those slots on my end. That said, I'm flexible with this, whether it's pushing it earlier in the day or later to account for peoples schedules or doing it during the evening on a weekday. It'll come down to finding the best time slot for everybody involved but I want to stress that this is going to be focused on European time zones (GMT-0, GMT+1, GMT+2, GMT+3, GMT+4). If you're in America, Asia, or Oceania, you're free to apply to join but keep in mind that you're screwing up your schedule of your own accord for this and I'm not going to schedule a game starting at midnight of 7 in the morning to accommodate your time zone/schedule. What kind of player are allowed to join? You're experienced with TTRPGs? Hop on in. You've got no idea what the hell is happening but you want to try it out? Hop on in. If you've got an accent and you've got stage fright with doing roleplay, don't worry, I'm exactly the same and I'm a bloody screw-up. There will be gaffs, there will be stuttering, there will be a lot of uhms and ahms from me as I stumble over my words and land face-first in spaghetti time and time again, so there's going to be no pressure to stay in character at all times, be theatrical, or take it all in a grandiose direction. I want a more casual experience and group at the end of the day, something that is more akin to a Beer & Pretzels' type of game/group rather than diving deep into the roleplaying and theatrics. That's why I'm interested in more lite systems with enjoyable combat after all. The big requirements to keep in mind are: Work with the schedule we agree upon. Life can get in the way, its understandable and I won't hold it against anybody, but do your best to commit Have a microphone. Seeing as combat is something I'm interested in, it's going to be a good part of the game, and the lack of one will just slow everything down too much Don't be a stereotypical grognard / stereotypical redditor. Be free in your cringe, but have some social tact. How to get in contact? My discord is biggumfluff, add that, let me know if you found this post on Roll20 or somewhere else, and we can get to talking. I'll organize a Discord server to stay in contact with everybody and have a voice chat available, and once everything is squared away, I'll make the Roll20 game itself. And that's it. If I figure out any extra info that needs to be added, I'll edit the post down the line. If there's any questions you want to ask before adding me on Discord, feel free to! I'll get to them whenever I can.
