Another Problem With Character Sheet Updates - Damage Buttons Missing

Sunday we are playing a friend's campaign that has been dormant for a long time, over a year. I am not the actual DM, though I am the Roll20 main DM as I set this up for him back in 2020 or 2021 . I had posted about this campaign on the main boards in the past month or more about some of the token character sheets not updating to the latest version. Well, they've updated, but there is something missing and one (Krail, below) is looking a little odd: Some others have ranges showing for melee weapons. One out of eight characters seems to work properly,  ie there are damage buttons. But that token seems corrupted in other ways - cannot open character sheet except from the Journal tab; Shift double click or the Open Character Sheet button on the Token Settings dialog does not work. Transmogrifying to a new campaign would be a lot of work since there are many maps, some of which are archived - I'm afraid to try. The only thing that seems to work is just making a new character and getting the guys to transfer their information over. That will be a cluster-cluck, even with most of them proficient Roll20 users, because there is so much there.   Help, please, they are playing Sunday. I may or may not be there as I have another game possibly scheduled for the same time. -- Tim

If there are ranges posted for a melee weapon; is the Attack Type set to melee or ranged? If melee, try setting it to "Ranged" to un-hide the Range field and clear it.  Set the weapon back to melee.  Some fields only show with the attack roll if they include a value. example of a thrown melee weapon (some fields only show if set to ranged); melee version; If the damage isn't showing in chat, verify there is damage values entered for the attack.  You can also try making an edit to one of the damage fields in the row.  This should force a sheet-calc for damage for that row. Try a roll.  Does the damage buttons show in chat? For Krail; try toggling the /w gm the Matrix/THAC0 (ie change it to "No" and make a roll, then change it back.)  Does the attack display correctly? You shouldn't need to re-create new characters.  Toggling and/or entering within the existing attack row should solve your issues.  You can also try using the "Update Attacks" or "Reset Weapons" options from the sheet settings page. They do not delete any attacks.. They will simply reset the attack macros to the sheet's current default.  When there has been updates to the sheet's default attack macro (it's been a while), the sheet checks if an attack is using the last known default, if so, it would update the macro.  But if the macro had been modified/edited or it wasn't recognized as the last known default, the macro-text would be skipped in the update an attempt to not overwrite someone's edited macro.  Perhaps these characters did not get their attack  macros updated at some point.  Not really sure.  Try some of what I've suggested.  Feel free to send me a private message with an join link and I'll see if I can't straighten them out without having to re-create anything.

Thanks Vince, let me try these.
Not working. I don't mind copying them over.
I should also note the sheet is very very slow reacting to changes of things like melee to ranged or in selecting tabs in equipment.

The reset buttons,  Update Attacks, Reset All, and Reset Weapons do not work. Even when I delete the macro showing under default macro and then press the update/reset buttons, they do not. However - LOL and I wish I had seen your reply before recreating 4 characters and copying information over morning and all afternoon :) - creating a new entry in the attack matrix does. I have three characters left (including the DM's NPC) and will do that, this time. The exercise did allow me to weed some crap out for the DM, though.  So solved! :) Thanks so much.

Kind of solved.  I'm not really sure why those characters attacks appear to be messed up.  It is encouraging that you could create an new attack that works as expected.  Again, feel free to invite me to a game if you would like me to have a look at any problem characters.
