Hello! My name is Stephanie (she/her) I’m looking for 4-6 players to join a mini campaign (3-4 sessions) set in Critical Role's Wildemount setting, with the ultimate goal of finding a group to move into a full campaign of Call of the Netherdeep (sometime in June/July). My goal is for session 0/1 to be on Tuesday, April 28th, 8:30pm-11:30pm. We would be using Roll20 (maps), Discord(voice chat) and DnDBeyond (character sheets). Further details are below, along with the google form if you are interested in joining. *Please read the full post before completing the google form, as there are details here that will indicate right away whether my game table is a good fit for you.* Background : I've been playing D&D for about six years and DMing for about three years. I'm a special education teacher with a background in dramatic arts and improv. As a DM, I believe the rules are important for maintaining a sense of tension, but I also love to bring Rule of Cool into play. I strive to make the game world feel alive, and encourage players to be creative and interact in unique ways. Age : This is a game for adults 18 and over. I'm not comfortable mixing adults and minors in situations where characters may engage in romantic relationships. As a note, there will be NO explicit descriptions of sex in this game, but discussions of romance, sex and relationships may occur. Play format: I play using video and voice; you are welcome to turn your camera on as well, but it isn't required. I do ask that you have a good microphone, speakers/headphones, and a good connection. I use Discord video chat, Roll20 for maps and combat and DNDBeyond for character sheets. Once you're in the group, I will send you an invite to the Discord server, where you will find the Roll20 and DnDBeyond links. Scheduling: Session 0/1 April 28th, 8:30pm-11:30pm EST Long term, my schedule is less flexible until about mid-June, so we would be playing more sporadically over the next couple of months, but I would share that schedule well in advance. Once the school year is over, I'd like to start playing every Tuesday, 8:30pm-11:30pm EST. Style of play: This will be a roleplay heavy game, though there will also be plenty of combat, exploration and puzzle solving as well. The Netherdeep module includes a character corruption mechanic, as well as injury mechanics linked to specific locations in the world. Beyond Call of the Netherdeep, the story would be built from PCs' backstories/arcs, up to level 20. I am really into roleplay, and encourage both PC/NPC interactions and PC/PC interactions. This does not mean you need to be an Oscar winning actor. I do ask that you be willing to engage with the world and the other players in an immersive way. For example, if you need to get information out of an NPC, rather than saying "I rolled a 18 persuasion, does that work?" describe or act out how you will get this information. Alignments: I'm not big on alignment in regards to PCs, as I don't find them helpful. I want players to think "what would my character do?" as opposed to "what would my alignment do?" In regards to playing in character, please bring a PC who wants to go on an adventure, and who is willing to work with other PCs. Flawed characters are great, but not characters that are so problematic the other PCs can’t justify traveling with them. Lines and Veils: I am very sensitive to others feelings and I want to make sure everyone at my table feels safe and respected. That being said, this is a collaborative storytelling game that relies heavily on improv. Triggers are subjective and I can't guarantee a sensitive topic will never come up. As the DM, I set the baseline at my personal limits, which are as follows: Derogatory remarks of any kind, including but not limited to slurs or jokes related to race, ethnicity, gender, or orientation. Any mention of sexual assault, including coercion, stalking, or drugging someone. This includes sex/romance between minors and adults Jokes or romanticized comments about slavery, torture or genocide Explicit descriptions of sexual activity Additional lines can be added based on Player input, but I will not guarantee any request for a line. The following elements are either integral to the campaign, or part of my preferred style of play, and will NOT be added to the lines list: Swearing Violence and Injury Romance and Non-explicit sex (I know many players want this as part of their fantasy and their character’s arc, and it is something I find adds realism to the setting. You are welcome to opt your character out of these interactions, but I will not eliminate all romance/non-explicit sex from the game) Death, of both PCs and NPCs Veils are subject matter that is obliquely referenced, but not discussed or described in detail.
