System : D&D 5.5e Group Type : Online (Streamed) Experience Level : All welcome from beginners to veterans Game Style : Custom homebrew campaigns with a balance of roleplay, combat, and exploration When : Mondays, weekly | 4–7 PM PST Tools : VDO Ninja, Roll20, D&D Beyond , Discord | Mic + Webcam required Hey, I’m Risengaia, a lifelong gamer and DM of over 10 years. As the title says, I am looking for 2-3 players to join an ongoing D&D stream. Campaign has been going strong for a while now and at the time of this posting has had 45 sessions so far. Hoping to find some fun players that will mesh well with the current group, preferably with an online presence. It is very important that anyone interested must be willing to commit. My games are grounded, with a tone that shifts naturally through horror, action, quiet tension, and the occasional laugh (when it fits). I do voices, love roleplay, and build worlds that respond to your choices. No railroads, no pre-decided outcomes, just setups and possibilities. Laid-back, story-driven, and player-first, if that’s your jam, let’s talk. Outside the game, I’m a working dad of two who loves sci-fi, fantasy, horror, writing, and all things nerdy. I’m an experienced Dungeon Master and whether you're new to D&D or have years under your belt, you’re welcome here as long as you value the game, the story, and your fellow players. Expect cinematic storytelling, creative homebrew content, and a living world that reacts to your choices in meaningful ways. My DM Style Original homebrew campaigns only: no modules A mix of classic fantasy, cosmic horror, and grounded character drama Immersive sensory tools (music, visuals, etc.) to enhance atmosphere Player agency is sacred: I build the world; you decide how to live in it Player Expectations & Guidelines Requirements Games would be online using a combination of theater of the mind and Roll20. Players will need a decent mic, camera, and a nice playing environment. All players must be age 18+. Player Agency Your character, your choices. I won’t control your actions, though I may advise on consequences or impossible outcomes. Autonomy and impact are key. Balance & Challenge Encounters are thoughtfully designed for the party as a whole. Some fights may require caution or even retreat, in which case I may give narrative clues, so you're not caught unfairly off guard. Metagaming Not something I am usually too concerned about above the table stuff, but characters shouldn’t act on out-of-character info. If you know there is a fight in another room, your character doesn’t just know that unless there's a reason. I may occasionally allow checks to bridge that gap. PvP & Social Rolls PvP is discouraged unless it emerges naturally and with mutual buy-in. If it serves the story, I won’t stop it, but if it is out of place and disrupts the table, I’ll step in. Don’t roll dice on other players unless we agree in the moment. Roleplay comes first. Rules Calls If a rule is unclear, I’ll make a fast judgment call to keep the session flowing. We’ll revisit it afterward if needed. Healthy discussion is welcome after the session, not during. No table-lawyering, muttering, or eyerolls. Be cool. Remember that we will be streaming. Plus, if a rule is unclear, I have a personal philosophy of giving the players the edge. Dice Etiquette Roll only when prompted. Unprompted rolls won’t count and may need to be redone. Spotlight Sharing Everyone deserves a chance to shine. Support others during their big moments. Yours will come, too. The group is great about not only letting other players have their moments but also encouraging each other to step into the spotlight. Min/Maxing Play what you love: optimize your build or dive deep into RP. Just make sure your character is more than a stat sheet. Murder Hobos Beware Bold or brutal choices are welcome, but actions have consequences. If your goal is to loot and kill everything “just because,” this isn’t the table for you. I love morally complex characters, but not senseless chaos. The world reacts and remembers. Tolerance & Group Culture Zero tolerance for hate speech, slurs, or harassment. Period. This includes during and between sessions. I expect everyone to act with basic decency and emotional maturity. My role is to craft a story and run a game, not to have to police behavior. If you can’t respect others, this is not your table. If the idea of being respectful feels like a burden, we’re not a good fit. Interview Before making any final selections, we will need to schedule a video call. Takes no more than 15 minutes, and is done to ask questions to make sure our play styles will mesh well, that we vibe well, and that you have a decent mic and webcam (doesnt need to be top of the line but needs a clear image and vocals). How to Apply Comment “interested” on the post AND then message me directly. Please share: Who you are What kinds of characters you like to play What you're looking for in a campaign/group As I said, the campaign is ongoing and if you would like to get a feel for the game beforehand, you can find every session posted on Youtube.
