[5th edition D&D character sheet] What if i want to prepare the same spell in multiple slots?

Rolling up a prepared spell-caster for the first time and I'm writing down their spells. Found the little red dot next to the spell list for selecting which ones are prepared or not. But as far as i can tell, there's no counter to tell how many times that spell has been prepared. Like say, i have 4 1st level spell slots, I'd like Mage armour, Absorb Elements, and two uses of Magic missile. The problem is i can only mark Magic Missile once. How do you set it up so you can mark your spells multiple times? or even at higher levels for that matter? Do you just need to track all this stuff off-sheet?

HI Tam the Troll,  Sounds like you are coming from Pathfinder or 3.X D&D.  In those editions you prepared spells based on the number of times you want to cast that spell.  Meanwhile Sorcerers just had the number of spell slots they can use on any spell they know of that level.  D&D 5e everyone functions like Sorcerers did in PF/3.X. Ie: you prepare a spell, you can cast it as many times as you have spell slots.
Ahh okay, wasn't aware of that. So i could prepare say, Magic missile, Mage armour, Absorb Elements, and Protection from Evil, but then just spam Magic Missile four times?

Correct Note though that in addition to number of spell slots you also have how many spells you can prepare (across all levels, it is not per-level). So check your class's rules for how many prepared spells you have for your current level. Then prepare up to that many spells across all levels.  Example: if you can prepare 7 spells and have up to level 3 spells, that means you could prepare any mix of level 1, 2, and 3 spells up to a total of 7 prepared spells.  1st, 2nd, 3rd: 4, 2, 1 3, 3, 1 5, 1, 1 etc., so long as the total of prepared spells is 7. (for this example)
gotcha, thank you!
