[LFP] [Tuesday 4pm MST] New Campaign!!

Edited 1779832737
About Me I am just a 24-year-old gal from AZ who wants to play silly little games. I prefer longer form campaigns and mysteries that take a long while to see the end of. I give out plenty of handouts with clues all over them for you to come to your own decisions about the story. Think of Skyrim for an example, the winners tell the story but there are so many pieces of lore in books from other cultures and civilizations that are long gone or just removed that tell a different story. My main playstyle is heavily focused on the roleplay aspect, i think every action good or bad has a consequence. Especially for the people around you, people, not NPCs. They all have lives and stories and aren't just a trope for you to experience once. I love live and laugh homebrew, I make it. Please just keep me updated with what you want to do! I fully believe in the rule of cool/fun so please be wacky with your spells and skills.  I lean heavily into the horror genre; there  will be a content warning at session 0. I set the mood with music and can lock in to give everyone a spooktacular time! I do not have any hard rules other than basic respect and open communication, i love when my players scheme against my world and break mechanics to tell an epic story! Please, come tell an epic story with me! (Idk why the shit looks like this.. pls help). The World When God shattered, magic became a finite resource and mortals of course, used too much. The Radiant Renaissance ended not with a bang, but with a whimper of spells fizzling, floating cities falling, dungeons drying up and constructs halting their march. Then came the discovery: dragons are living deities; t heir hearts contain fragments of the original divine. Their sleep is capable of generating ambient magic. Kingdoms began to build themselves around sleeping dragons just to keep the lights on. The Empire houses the eldest of them all: Vorthalax, the First Scaled. She has slept for five hundred years. Her hoard is the imperial treasury, her dreams guides oracles and her presence sustains an entire civilization. As you awake:      The courtroom smells of copper. A magical quill writes your sentence onto your forearms. The judge does not speak, she only points to a map.      The Fractured Archipelago . A scar on the ocean where the Second Cataclysm tore reality apart. Each island is a dungeon, each dungeon is a sin where monsters respawn endlessly and gold grows like weeds.      "You stole from the eldest dragon," the quill writes. "Now you will build her a new hoard. Pay the principal. Pay the interest. Pay for the lives her rampage has cost. Fail, and the geas will take its payment from your flesh, your memories and your years."      Your first payment is due in thirty days.      Welcome to The Interest of Scales. What Kind of Campaign Is This? Kingdom-building: Establish a settlement, recruit followers, manage resources, and defend your hoard from rivals. Dungeon-delving: Each island is a bespoke, ego-themed dungeon with unique mechanics and moral choices. Debt management: A monthly geas cycle forces hard decisions. Do you clear that dungeon for gold or for an Ancient Anchor? Do you pay the minimum or overpay to reduce future interest? Moral complexity: You are not heroes. You are criminals making amends. Some will hate you. Some will pity you. Some will try to exploit you. Redemption is possible, but not guaranteed. Roleplay Heavy: I personally love playing and creating living worlds with people not NPC’s every action hasound you are always affectthe people around you are always affected. Tone & Themes High fantasy with dark economic horror Exploration of ego, sin, and redemption Found family among the damned "What do you owe the world that raised you, and what does it owe you?" Logistics System: D&D 5e 2014 with homebrew mechanics Starting Level: 1 Expected Level Range:1 –10 (or higher, depending on how long we play) Session Length: 2-3 hours NEVER GOING OVER 3 HOURS every other Tuesa Platform: Discord (voice) + Roll20 Players: 4–5 Tone balance: 40% exploration/dungeon, 60% roleplay/kingdom-building, 100% debt panic How to Apply Tell me: Your experience with D&D (none required, just be honest). A character concept (class, race, and one sentence about why they were desperate enough to steal from a dragon. Doesn't have to be permanent or fully fleshed out!). What excites you most about this premise (kingdom-building? dungeon-crawling? debt panic? dragon drama?) The scales are tipping. Your first payment is due in 30 days.
I would like to apply for this, but I have a question what materials would be allowed in for character creation?
Anything that fits 2014!! I truly do not care if its homebrew or offical, just send me a link so i can keep up with it and let you know if anything needs to be changed! I love creating actual heroes so my power scaling is a lil funky compared to other dms lmao!! Feel free to use anything just make sure i can see the source material!
