Allow us to create NPCs by uploading JSON

I have limited mobility in my hands but love to run DND games. It would be a huge time saver and allow me to create much greater variety and depth of my worlds in Roll20 if I could use my various editors and tools outside of Roll20 to create my NPC families and factions in JSON format, then import them to get the NPCs created with default tokens. Then all I’d have to do is upload the token images and link them.  Imagine Marketplace authors building a “tavern pack” of NPCs with names, macros, gear, motivations, brief back stories, etc.

A compendium drop is basically a collection of data that can be represented in JSON, so it would be trivial I should think to support a more generalized version where you could drop a local file in JSON format onto a sheet and have roll20 make it looks like a compendium drop. It would need some filtering by Roll20, I suspect, to prevent a string that could break the sheet, but that doesn't seem hugely difficult.  I suspect they already do similar for text input fields. That way you could not only create NPCs, but custom equipment items, features & traits, etc. You could probably even use the same mechanism, if it were externalized as an API (Mod) script callable function to allow a script to drop custom objects to a sheet.

+1 In some sheets I have authored, I have put some space on the sheet where you can paste a text blob copied from a PDF document which is then parsed and loaded into sheet attributes. It would be so much easier if a JSON file drop without a compendium was possible.
