Dynamic Lighting Area Offsets/Phantom Lines in Jumpgate

I have been experiencing multiple instances of dynamic lighting either illuminating the wrong area or adding imaginary walls to my maps.  The first one I noticed was this one: Notice that the illuminated area is several hexes offset to the left from the actual dynamic lighting walls.  The next occurrences were entirely imaginary walls: Notice that directly in front of the character there is an entirely imaginary curtain (blocking sight but not movement), not relatable to any of the actual dynamic lighting lines visible on the building at the bottom of the map.  A little later on, another imaginary curtain appears inside the building: Observe the vision blockage about halfway up the screen.  I am unable to determine if this blocks movement as well since I am the DM and can move the token how I like (unlike the preceding screenshot where the players were definitely able to walk through it).  This is occurring in Firefox, with the cache flushed, and over a period of weeks (the game in the first screenshot was observed over a month ago and repeated today on a different computer besides). Hope you can figure this out.

Hi Bill,  This is usually the result of lines which are too long, doubling back on themselves etc. It can be caused by lines somewhere else on the map.  If you'd like, I can come take a look and identify which lines are causing it. If so, please message me a join link to your game.

Alright, I can confirm the problem.  Was this originally a Legacy game that was converted to Jumpgate or Transmogrified from a Legacy game?  Were the lines generated by an API Script? Did the pages (maps) with the problem come from a Module/Addon?  We have a theory as to the source of the bug and are trying to confirm.
I too am seeing this in one of my games.
1) Lakevale was a legacy game converted to Jumpgate.  Both of the maps in question were put into the campaign after the conversion, however. 2) The lines were  not  generated by an API Script. 3) The Centipede Cave was generated by me using backgrounds (but not dynamic lighting) courtesy of Gabriel Pickard. 4) The Captain's Keep was an addon from Kraven's Keep, to which I added the forest at the top of the map (and the dynamic lighting in those trees). Bill
I'm remembering now that I slightly misspoke.  On the Captain's Keep map, I did need to use the Pathsplitter script to add in a secret door as the entrance to Room 11, which is buried in the middle of the map. Bill

Ok, thanks Bill, I'll take a look at Kraven's Keep.
Bill (Do Not Kill)       I have been experiencing multiple instances of dynamic lighting either illuminating the wrong area or adding imaginary walls to my maps.  I just had a game become unplayable because of this.  My players could not see half of a room but could move through the light blocking line and then see on the other side. I, as DM, could not see the light barrier and even on the Light layer could not find a line to delete. This is in multiple places on the map. Light is blocked and there is no way to unblock it save turning off Dynamic lighting, which exposes everything on the map and is unacceptable. I am using Jumpgate and the map is Dungeon of the Mad Mage level 3.

Hultz, if you could invite me to the game I can find the light barrier that is causing it.

Bill, I took a look at the addon Captain's Keep, it doesn't have a problem with the phantom lines. I am guessing that perhaps it was Pathsplitter converting them to pathv2 improperly.  In any case, redrawing the 3 offending lines should fix it. If you'd like I can do that for you. Please let me know if you want me to do that. Regarding Centipede Cave, it appears you drew it as one long snaking line. That is often a recipe for a bug. Please redraw it in smaller, more discrete lines.
You probably should, since I don't know what the "offending" lines might be. Thank you, Bill
+1 massive bugs with this, makes a lot of maps borderline unplayable

Bill, Ok, making the changes. I have a copy of the map with the lines marked in different colors if you want to take a look at which lines were the problem. It is worth noting the addon does not have this problem. Something happened afterwards to create the problem. We are still investigating but we may never know.

Interesting that 1) the lines which were causing the problem were not where I had placed the cut with Pathsplitter, and 2) that this also got rid of the phantom curtain in the forest. Bill
I went back and looked at my older maps, and all the ones I checked have the "offset" problem, and they definitely didn't when I created them.  To my recollection, many of these were created pre-jumpgate.
While it's great you're willing to go in and fix this issue on everyone's games Gauss, I doubt that's a sufficient "solution" for this continuing to happen as I doubt having you go in and fix every instance of this happening in the future is something you want to do ;-).  I also have had this happen in my game (Legacy converted to Jumpgate).  On a page created by me, using a map I created with Dungeon Alchemist, I uploaded it and used the Dungeon Alchemist API to have it auto-setup the page to correct sizes and dynamic lighting.  A short L shaped line created a invisible phantom line across the entirety of the map extending out from both ends, the only way to fix it was to go through every line in the area and test each one to see which was the problem.  Hopefully Roll20 can solve this issue so you don't have to spend your time fixing these.  Thanks!

JmanX,  I am doing more than just fixing games, I am gathering information and feeding it back to the Devs.   This has been a long standing issue with Jumpgate, and while I think we might be narrowing down the cause, it is still not quite nailed down.
