Hi Roll20, Interested in dungeon crawls, open worlds and sandboxes and a jungle theme with potentially some hex crawl baked in? Then I invite you to dare to defy death in the adventure I am running, Tomb of Annihilation! This game is a classic DnD fifth edition pre-written adventure that is widely regarded as one of the best and great for parties who like a good challenge, but also playable for new players. A synopsis of the campaign For the past several days, the talk of the streets and taverns has all been about the so-called death curse: a wasting disease afflicting everyone who's ever been raised from the dead. Victims grow thinner and weaker each day, slowly but steadily sliding toward the death they once denied. When they finally succumb, they can't be raised—and neither can anyone else, regardless of whether they've ever received that miracle in the past. Temples and scholars of divine magic are at a loss to explain a curse that has affected the entire region, and possibly the entire world. Some Notes about the Campaign Setting: Faerun, Forgotten Realms, 1492 DR Looking for 3-5 players; I already have one player from a campaign I’m in playing System used: DnD 5e 2014 (with some homebrew; will be explained in greater detail for newly accepted players) Level Range: 1-12, we may go higher than 12 but that is still to be determined I’m lenient on homebrew; just show it to me before you use it; any core dnd 5e 2014 book is fair game. Can use any stat determination method, just show me the stats afterward Method of communication/medium for sessions: Discord for VC and chat, Roll20 for VTT We will be doing a Session 0 soon, but when this will be is TBD Session times are TBD, hoping to discuss this with players once everyone is there. IMPORTANT: Since this campaign revolves around the aforementioned death curse being in effect, I would highly recommend not getting too attached to the characters you make, obviously give them more than like a single sentence backstory but I would avoid making an extremely intricate character unless you’re prepared for them to possibly die. Make sure you also have a backup character in mind by Session 1. In terms of RP to Mechanics ratio, I would give this campaign a 30-70, this game is very gameplay/mechanically oriented. There will be chances to rp, but if you’re not into the nitty gritty of DnD 5e this game may not be for you.
