Old school Forever DM looking for a Group/DM

I am a 45ish year vet as a DM (Mostly) and a Player in TTRPGs DnD and many, many others. I am respectful, chill, laid back, I am helpful to other players (if wanted), and I do not suffer from Main Character psychosis lol. I always accept a Dm's ruling, even if I disagree, and if I disagree strongly enough, I will only ever ask a DM respectfully for clarification on a ruling, or explanation, but never argue, and never in the middle of game, as I will not interrupt the game flow, and fellow players experience, and ultimately accept whatever ruling the DM makes. I can and am willing to play any class/role the party needs, and I enjoy playing support characters, I state this as many people do not enjoy these roles. I am here for a fun time for everyone. I am also a font of Forgotten Realms lore knowledge if wanted, but I do not let that lead to metagaming, I always play my character as my character, and only with what they would and would not know. I have taken a taken a little hiatus for about a year and half so I may need to refresh myself on somethings, or some new functions on roll 20, so please have some patience with that. Preferences 1: 18 + Only due to the fact that I do not want to have to worry about the occasion curse word or some colorful comment, but to be able to be chill. 2: I would like if the DM/Group utilized D&D Beyond, as it is useful and I have hundreds and hundreds of dollars of material I paid for and would like to make use of it. 3: A DM who runs for the players and not "DM vs Players" 4: A DM who doesn't ban everything but the most basic of classes, races, etc. A DM is not afraid of their players having a bit of uniqueness and ingenuity. (I totally get having restrictions to having only things that are lore friendly, but all these DM with all kinds of race and class bans, only standard array, only the most basic of core rules, is kind of ridiculous to me as a long time DM) 5: A chill group who is looking for long term play together, who are all open minded, not bigoted, chill and laid back gamers, as I am. 6: A good mix of Roleplaying, Exploration and Combat, as a 45 year vet I know all three can be seamless if done right, and it's not that hard. 6: Prefer Forgotten Realms, or any well established setting with a set lore, that's not make it up as you go. But Forgotten Realms has them most comprehensive amount of lore and history. 7: Prefer. weekly, early to late evenings, (I am EST), I prefer longer sessions, at least 4 hours, very ok with longer. (To me two-three hour sessions are just not long enough, it's like everyone just gets into their groove, sometimes get into a big combat and can't even finish it, just yea prefer a decent amount of time to make the effort worth it. All of the above are just preferences and negotiable but wanted to lay out plainly what I am looking for so as to not waste anyone's time, and I am very open to DM's and other player's preferences as long as they do not collide to badly, as a group will want to mesh well.
Please call me I have questions
Hey; I'm running a homebrew Sword Coast campaign that I've done a few times before, and I'd love to have someone in this next group I'm making with a both a bit of experience with FR lore and someone who gets DMing. I don't have any restrictions of what you can be, though I sometimes discourage certain builds/ideas if they seem like they'd be disruptive to the group (not because of being 'strange' or unusual to the lore). You can even be evil, but that's where I just need some reason from your backstory for you to want to work with the group, etc. It's really not an issue though with this campaign, as it has a built in 'hook' for each character to the main plot, and I will ensure that no matter what you want to roll, I'll work with you to ensure you're part of the story, not just an observer to it. It's hard to explain without launching into a longer description than I think is warranted here. But you can check out a slightly more detailed description at the campaign's DnD Beyond page: https://www.dndbeyond.com/campaigns/join/78217112823872021 I'm about your age, definitely very flexible (some would say 'generous' as a DM), but that doesn't mean 'easy'. It's a tough campaign, or at least it can be. It's very dependent on player choices, of course. There's a brief prologue that is quite scripted, but after that, the group is free to do what they wish, really. There is a definite plot (a few really), so there won't be any wondering what you should or could do, at least not for awhile. I'd describe it as 50% roleplaying, even more at first, and then it will likely evolve into some combination of RP, exploration, combat, puzzles, and intrigue, in a ratio that will depend on what the group does. We use discord text channels combined with Above VTT for battlemaps and DnD Beyond for source material and characters (with avrae, an tupperbox to help immersion). So yes its text, but there's visuals, and battle maps (not just for combat, but for exploring as well). On the plus side, you can play everyday. I get what you mean about finding that four hour sweet spot, and while its true that's unlikely in a PBP game (though I've had days with some groups where everyone was on and we definitely put in several hours together). However, IMO, it feels like you're always playing when you're in a PBP game, like it never stops, instead of waiting until that one time slot per week, which may have to get cancelled sometimes, etc. At any moment, there might be another update, another chance to interact with the story somehow or with the group. Even when the group gets busy with RL for a time and it slows down, you can still be thinking about your next moves, and you can spend time reviewing the story, checking for things you might have missed. If you've never done PBP, you might be surprised how much you like it; I didn't think I would, but ever since I started I haven't looked back. There's no substitute for a RL game, but if you're doing it online anyway, I personally don't really see how hearing everyone's voices makes it worth the extreme difficulties in coordinating everyone's busy schedules. It's also a lot harder to prep for sessions that long as a DM, and it'd be hard for me to do that for several groups, for free, the way I can with PBP. As players, you can also take more time to think about how you want to respond, and may feel more free to roleplay in more dramatic ways. If that sounds good, go ahead and join the DnD Beyond campaign, and I'll send you a link to the discord. Good luck finding the right fit for you, either way.
