[LFG] [D&D 5e or 5e 2024] [GMT] [MON, TUE, WED, FRI AFTER 7:00PM BST/GMT] Experienced Player Seeking Long Term Game

Hello there! My name is Joshua, but Josh will work for those of you that don't allow UA. I've been playing D&D for around twenty years with the vast majority of that time spent as a DM. While I absolutely adore running games within my homebrew worlds, I have found myself seeking to indulge in the other side of the screen. As a player, I covet character growth and roleplay, and wish to indulge heavily in the lore and characters of the world. While I enjoy combat, I typically prefer more roleplay or intrigue related games. That being said, I aim to approach combats with a fresh lens and style as I flavour and describe my failures and successes. I do not have any existing concepts for characters, it is a preference of mine to craft a character that fits the world as opposed to insert one into it by force. I love playing characters that fit a niche in a group and have a list of flaws and traits that make them feel organic/interesting. I am really looking for a homebrew setting or one of the longer campaign paths/series. So please reach out via PM or even this post directly if you have a world that could benefit from a roleplay heavy player wanting to explore it! Kind regards, ~ The Bard ~
Hello Josh! This may seem like a strange way to approach D&D but personally once I tried it out I was hooked for two years straight so far across a handful of campaigns. We have been working on this project now since May 2025 with no signs of slowing down, I'd love to introduce you to the West Marches style of D&D! The Aurora Point Institute is a West Marches styled campaign that has been running for the last year and a half with over 70 active adventurers. We have an overarching World Story that updates every 2 months with 'World Events' and each chapter ending with a 'World Event Mission' that includes as many adventurers as possible over a series of games played over a weekend usually. Outside of the World Story there are dozens of DM Run Stories & Plotlines throughout the world of Aspirion, the stories interweaving and working together to build a wild and flourishing world for you to explore through an expansive text-rp world. So even if you only have 30m to play during the week you can Roleplay your character interacting with others, purchasing gear, progressing plot points, or just sitting back and enjoying a drink at the Institute's all-inclusive restaurant. A player-driven game listing system allows you to post a game listing for a time and a level that work for you and let others join up! We have games during both AM & PM all week long with investments into both PBP & roll20 + Discord VC as mediums. I think that the flexibility of finding games and roleplaying your character will be a massive boon for your playstyle! You can use our forum post here to navigate to our discord server as you wish!
Hello! Thank you, I'll take a look but must admit to poor experiences with West March style games but shan't let that stain my opinion! Though I still seek standard games, so don't be shy other DM's!

Hi there, I appreciate the offer but I am looking specifically for D&D 5e/2024 but thank you! ~ The Bard ~
Joshua, So, hear me out: What about a narrative-focused fantasy game that was deeply roleplay-heavy and driven, where you as player get to have a high degree of narrative authority that begins to blur the line between player and GM? A story that is focused on character growth - not in the mechanical 'I level up and get more abilities' sense, but in the narrative sense of character changing what they believe in and how they relate to others? A game that treats combat as part of the narrative - that is description-first and tactical number crunching none? A game that treats failure as interesting and advances the action instead of 'no, you don't notice anything' or 'no, you miss'? A story that will begin with a central theme that everyone collaboratively decides upon and that all characters are built around, and then the world will be built outward upon that? And it wouldn't be D&D. If that kind of game interests you, send me a PM and we can talk.
Hello there, I appreciate the premise but sadly it is not what I am looking for at the moment, I am specifically looking for 5e/5e2024 games in a more traditional sense. But I wish you all the best in your search! Kind regards, ~ The Bard ~
I have a game that needs a bit of explanation. The game is open Thursdays and Fridays 8 PM EDT. Players can attend whichever sessions they like, as long as they make an occasional appearance they are still active. It is a city based game and all sessions are episodic, so there are no cliffhangers. Characters can be Bards, Fighters, Thieves, or Wizards. I emphasize roleplay and solving problems, we are neglige' on the rules. Each character can create a number of NPCs, based on their charisma. Each week they will receive rumors from each NPC. The group will meet briefly at Mike's Bar to discuss the rumors and decide on a mission to run that night. At any given time there are at least 6 possible missions available. Players can have more than one character, they will not operate together. Players can share information amongst themselves. Characters will have macros made for most of their actions, to keep things moving. Locations are highly detailed with lighting, weather and random events built in. I currently have about 35 scenes created. Hello there! I appreciate the offer and appreciate the premise but I am well and truly looking for a traditional D&D 5e/5e2024 game as opposed peoples customs/alternatives. Thank you for asking! ~ The Bard ~
