When the awaken they: Eat a hearty breakfast, free of charge, thanks to Gribs. Wander outside, and unintentionally insult the smith. Have a discussion with the Priest of Phyton, who Clifton tricks into thinking he's a fellow devout of Phyton. They then head towards the Old Elf Lodge, wherein they find a scene of a slaughter. Bodies have been torn up and blood covers the room. At the center table, Jericho notices Frodrick's body, though it now lacks a head. A 9 foot tall half-ogre has blood up to his elbows and is playing with the decapitated head of Frodrick, talking to it. Clifton has the brilliant idea to trick the Ogre-kin with his telepathic abilities; he succeeds so well that the half-ogre runs off to hide in the woods. They search the Lodge and find some clues: a map leading to a large tree, a silver sword, and a note from someone proclaiming that the Beast of Marlgrove might be a lycanthrope. When they leave the lodge, the half-ogre's partner, a goblin with a worg pet, emerges from the trees. Ash tries to charm him but fails; a battle ensues, and both the worg and goblin are killed. Thruskk receives a serious gut-wound. A green dragon soars overhead, causing the party to scramble and hide beneath the trees. Thruskk then leads them away from the lodge in the direction of the tree on the map.
