Interest Check: New World of Darkness - Mage

Doing an interest check. Experienced GM seeks experienced players of the NWoD Mage game. Usually I am very "new player friendly" but in this one case... No. This is going to be a heavily RP based game that will require knowledge of the Mage setting and system. Just trying to see if I can find enough people interested, then I'll worry about seeing if I can schedule something.
I could possibly be interested. I was more interested in playing classic age but i have quite a bit of experience in new mage.
I'm looking forward to classic Mage again as soon as the 20th Anniversary edition is released. In this case, this one is being planned as a "Last Hurrah" for me for the nWoD Mage...
Ive kind of been doing the same thing in anticipation of mage 20th. The lore is just too damn good. If you put somethign together id love to play an Obrimos arrow most likely. Of all the characters i have played they were always subtle so doing something a little more along the lines of traditional wizardry would be fun.

Information: The Chronicle will have an overarching story plot that covers the protagonists as they face a number of challenges. This game will focus on the horror aspect of Mage, without going into the insane lengths many people attempt when they try to look into horror. Set in the city of Philadelphia Pennsylvania the chronicle will cover a wide-range of topics from Mage interactions with other Supernatural entities to internal political issues. This will not simply be another, "Mage vs Vampires" type of game. In fact, in the last game I ran, over many sessions I never had the PCs run into a Vampire, Werewolf, Promethean, etc... I'll use them, no doubt, but I try to give players something a little out of the ordinary. A little information on the city... Population Statistics Population Type Philadelphia Population Philadelphia Metropolitan Population Human 1,500,000 6,000,000 Vampire 30 120 Mage 20 80 Werewolf 10 50 Promethean 3 12 This is just a little info... I plan on taking this one pretty seriously... Though I guess the biggest thing is that I'll be using the comprehensive version of the Guardians of the Veil rather than the initial version. To explain it a bit... The original designer heavily favored the Guardians of the Veil. Eventually, after changing designers, they evened that out a bit and corrected it in later books, and pretty much fixed the balance between the groups. So the GoV went from being the "end all be all" of Mage, who could kill anyone they wanted with impunity, to more of a fringe group of fanatics who, save for cities that they are in power in, can't do much... Openly... Secretly though they do indeed have teeth. Anyway, so, this is going to be a pretty serious game but it also is going to be Mage only. No standard humans, Hunters, Werewolves, Vampires, Prometheans... etc. Just Mage.
I also prefer oWoD Mage (love my Virtual Adept version of Megan, though she's also playable as an ItX, or a Daughter of Ether in extreme circumstances), but I've played the new system once or twice, too. It's not my preference, though, so I'm not as versed on the mythos.
I'd love to have you Megan but this one, unfortunately, will be a voice enabled game. Sorry. :(
I'm always down for Mage, certainly my favorite supernatural template of the nwod line. So, depending on the schedule of when this goes through, I'm all in head first.
Sounds like a plan Luzelli!

I'm big time interested. I've always wanted to play Mage: The Awakening! I've also run one before, so I'm extremely familiar with the mechanics.
You have a day or time scoped out for this game?
Not as yet Michael. My schedule is flexible, so the plan is to find a crop of players, discuss with them what they want out of a game, then if we can all find the common ground, pick a date that works best for everyone.
Well i was thinking then, i kind of dont want the GoV dominating everything or any one particular order i would rather work on the cabal level than on the order level Maybe even make our own orders. Maybe against rival cabals over ideological reasons and working the seers or homebrewed groups in that are antagonists but at the same time at least sympathetic in some way not just mustache twirling evil. I dont care too much for the atlantis side of things so if thats left as mythology id be content with it. Im also a huge fan of abyssal antagonists.
Michael, I don't plan on the GoV dominating. The game is based, mostly on the PCs, as a Cabal, seeking to join the Nobilitas (the Concillium of Philly) the stories will be heavily based on what people choose to play.
I will state that I won't be doing homebrewed orders, or having players make their own orders, the normal lore is enough for the game as it is. As to the Atlantis stuff... No. It isn't mythology, it is a core part of Mage. That having been said, I don't see many trips to seek out the ancient libraries of Atlantis. Most of the violent conflict, I can say, will not be against Rival Cabals. That kind of thing isn't generally allowed by the Concillium and they would put a stop to it as quickly as possible. There are "protocols" for dealing with issues with other Concillium Cabals... Non-Concillium Cabals? Fair game.
YESYESYES. I'm an experienced Mage player, would love to join the game.
I am definitely interested! Was introduced to WoD little less than a year ago, thanks to my friend and standard DM, and it was some of the most fun I've had in awhile. We did a Mage campaign over the summer break and WOW! His campaign was a little relaxed with certain rules but would be up for playing again!
