Meeting Notes (Sat, 1 Nov)

Thank you everyone who attended today's meeting. I hope you all had a good time even though it was just a brief meet. My hockey team lost their game so that was a bit of a bust. :( As a reminder, today we touched on my goals for the campaign as far as how the characters should be reacting to the situation they'll be thrust in. The importance of not metagaming (when in doubt if your character knows something, ask me) My thoughts on DSPs and how I'd be awarding them. Everyone had the opportunity to throw out something more about their character. Waiting on a couple more people to vote. Should have the results no later than Monday as I've given the deadline to be end of day tomorrow (Sunday). Hopefully it will be much sooner. Once I have the final tally and put in my own 2 cents then I'll release the results. So far the results are rather interesting, but not unexpected IMO from my observations from reading over the concepts and from our meeting today. The only final decision will be getting to agree on the day, and while the tallies will be a major part of the decision it will come down to who can play on what day. Right now it's looking to be Monday or Tuesday. I'll reveal what level you'll be starting at once the final casting decision has been made and the day/time has been decided. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask here or in a PM.

Alright.. All results are in. Couple of you wanted to see how the votes came out so here they are: Direct voting Results Total Tallies The final results! JT H3-4L B07 aka Mad Doc Poison Aela Viszla Gerard P. Ozel Jason W. GK-13 Looking at the results it looks like Monday is the best day to play, as long as JT and Gerard can make it. We may need to push it back a little later as Jason did mention in the initial survey he's available after 8pm EST (unless 7pm is manageable). Again I want to thank everyone for their participation. It was a hard decision even with the votes, but there can be only 4!

Gosh darn it.. I just realized starting in January I'll have classes on Monday nights.. guess for now if we agree on Mondays we can play then and come end of December decide on a new day. Who knows what will change for everyone come after the holidays.
Yeah, we can cross that bridge when we come to it =)
yeah, mondays are fine, sundays were the only day i COULD not. Also yay...being picked...and poison, i had to pick you...you took notes...every group needs one of those :-D

I updated the character creation rules. I'll be working on setting up the Handouts on Roll20 today. The sheets themselves need to be in by Saturday for my review before playing on Monday. Still waiting to hear from Jason as to whether we'll need to start later than 7p. Also, you'll be needing a picture. I should be able to DL it from the handouts where you can upload it yourself into the sheet. If not then I'll ask for the source. @Poison since your character wears armor. See if you can find one of her in and out of it. Using tables we can switch the image on your token. Makes for a rather cool effect and is a good reminder. On the sheets since I've combined Climb, Swim and Jump into Athletics, if you take it, just mark each one with the training.
FIrst of all, very surprised and excited to see that my original character was picked, and that so many of you liked chose the same characters as me. It's going to be one interesting group! Secondly, if we need to switch to Tuesdays to play, I can swing that. Like Gerard, Sundays are out, but I am equally available the other two days. I had to pick one, so I just went with Monday. Thirdly, I should be able to play at 7pm (6pm, my time), so we can go ahead and try starting at 7 if that works better for everyone else.

Something I forgot to ask at the meeting: What is y'alls experience with Saga? So far you've been doing great with the character creation rules, but building characters and playing them are two different things.
I played in 4 games between 2008 and 2011, and GM'd 2 others, one in 2010 and one in 2012. I'm currently playing in one other Saga game, also, another text based roll20 game, where I play a Sith Apprentice.
The saga games ive played in were all ran by 1 person, but it was like 3 games. The final one was when he left the state. i had to know more rules then him and party interactions since he asked me to play the big baddy, stat it out and make it a fun but challenging fight.
Back when the core book came out, years ago, I ran 1 game for my old group as something different from our usual WEG campaigns. I have also played in two different games (neither lasted for more than 3 sessions and it was years ago). So, you could say my experience is extremely limited.
assorted games here and their, i've ran a campaign and sort of co-gmed a campaign i was in and generally i enjoy the playing

I've been mulling this over since the meeting when I mentioned rewards for player RP based on player votes. I don't track XP so wanted to make it a nice reward. Thought I'd get your input on what I've thought up. If you have more ideas definitely pitch in. 1st Free reroll of any dice roll even FP dice, keep better. Next session only 2ndTemporary FP for next session 3rd honorary mention
Force points are great rewards temp or otherwise

also not doing XP works for me since that means (at least in my experience) we dont have to grind kills. but can be rewarded for doing alternative routes to the same ends.
As a note I don't plan to spotlight hog aiming for bonus rp either, hopefully we'll all share and let the great rp happen organically
