Edit/Delete/Modify text in chat thread

One of my groups uses the "Launch Game" chat thread as a Play by Post thread. (Play by post is a way for people with jobs, school, families etc to play at their leisure and still enjoy RPG without having to physically be present at a table). It is nice to have the game and maps all in one place instead of bouncing to different pages or different links. (Example: The maps are here, but the discussion with the NPCs is over here). I think that you would be able to steal a lot of players from other forums (there is a large one that I am specifically thinking of, that I don't want to mention) because a growing majority already hold their maps here, but play their games there. More often than I would like I misspell words, or accidentally post under the wrong (game charater's) name. The ability to edit entries would be great for verisimilitude purposes. (I wouldn't need to keep chiming in as the GM and say, actually that was X character that said that, and not Y character. Sorry.) I understand why some GMs might not want things deleted, like dice rolls because they might not trust their players, and I think that you could just leave a text saying what was deleted. [char's name] edited a text. [char's name] deleted a dice roll . I believe the above to be necessary. But while I am here, it would also be nice to Italicize or Bold text in the thread as a command " /i for italics" for example. Bold for speech, italics for thought, and maybe even a different color or font for Out of Character speech. Thanks, and Happy Gaming! Brayden

Great suggestion! I just wanted to mention that you do have some alternate text modes you can take advantage of. • /ooc or /o for out of character chat • /desc (GM only) for descriptions • /em to emote actions You could also make a character everyone controls for a particular channel like thought and whisper to it: /w thoughts I wonder what this lever does..? https://wiki.roll20.net/Text_Chat
Thanks. Some helpful suggestions there. I really like the /desc function.
