W ell, here's the nuts and bolts, Alicia. You better double-check it thoroughly; I'm almost certain I made some mistakes. Once you give it the okay, I'll transfer it to the Roll20 character sheet. I also intend to expand my background, but it will be a bit before I get to it. GK-13 CL 7 Medium Battle Droid Noble 7

Noble 1; Str 13 (5 pts), Dex 16 (6 pts), Con 10 (technically, droids have no
Con score. The character sheet will not
allow you to leave the Dex field blank, so I simply assigned an average 10, as
this gives 0 modifiers.Let me know if
there’s some other way you want me to handle this), Int 14 (10pts), Wis 13
(5pts), Cha 10 (2pts) (Dex and Int are
adjusted for Battle Droid racial modifiers:+2 Dex / -2 Int).Total pts
spent: 28
Traits (Czerka series droid):Czerka droid designs are exceptionally
personable, no matter their degree or designed purpose.Even the feared HK assassin droids have a
certain frightening charm.A Czerka
droid can use its Intelligence or Wisdom modifier instead of its Charisma
modifier to determine its Persuasion skill modifier. Edit: This is from the Scavengers Guide to Droids.

many models of droids over the centuries, from the reliable and versatile GE3
Protocol Droid to the notorious HK series Assassin droids. But Czerka also produced a very specific and
limited production run of a specialized droid type known as the GK-13
series.The GK-13’s were specially
ordered for the nobility of Cobraxus; a decadent and wealthy planet located on
the cusp of the mid and outer rims.
Cobraxian
nobles have a very ruthless and regimented society.Higher rank (and the settling of differences)
is attained through the assassination of rivals, but this must be done in a
very specific manner. There are rules to
murder on Cobraxus, and the nobility have a very strict code which must be
followed when carrying out an assassination. One picks a personal champion, a skilled pistoleer to represent the noble’s
grievances.This pistoleer then publicly
challenges the champion of the noble who is to be assassinated. The two duelists fight (in the presence of
both nobles and a crowd of their peers), and whichever champion wins may then gun
down the patron of the slain duelist.
The GK-13
series was designed to fulfill this role by a clever Czerka employee who was
born on the world and discerned a lucrative market for a highly specialized
product.A production run of some 200 of
the GK-13’s were produced and sold, lovingly (and expensively) crafted to the
specifications of their owners until new laws enacted by the Cobraxian
aristocracy outlawed the use of the droids (which many considered an uncouth
and cowardly way to settle a grievance).
Most of these
GK-13’s have since been sold and found their way into the hands of off world
masters, who use them for everything from personal bodyguards, to assassins, to
security in noble residences.
GK-13 M187 was
one such droid.After faithfully serving
in the houses of two Cobraxian nobles, model 187 was given to a Rodian Crime
boss, as a gift, then subsequently lost in a game of Sabaac, to Soola Eeb, a Republic
spy masquerading as a gambler.Soola and
GK-13 then spent the greater part of a year, infiltrating the Hutt Cartel,
spying on the crime syndicates operations, and foiling their schemes.
Just prior to
being displaced into the future, GK-13 was receiving a nice buff n’ polish and
an oil bath, so the person(s) responsible should brace themselves for a harangue
of galactic proportions! Era Active: T he GK series was produced during the 11 year
span of the Galactic Cold War (3653 BBY to 3664 BBY) between the Sith and the
Galactic Republic. GK-13 was activated toward the end of this conflict (3660
BBY), but has spent most of his existence on Cobraxus, largely sheltered from
the greater galaxy. You're Good at? Obeying
master. Gun dueling. Verbal Repartee. Staying immaculately clean and polished. Being vain about his appearance. Extolling his own virtues. Step 1 : Write
5 background and concept elements that you feel are important to your image of
the character. These can be a concept overview, a list of important life
events, a physical description, a personality profile...whatever you need to
get an image in your mind. 5 is just a minimum...more elements are encouraged!
[I went with a list of important life events, constructed in a time-line
format]
1) 3660 BBY: GK-13 (Model
187) rolls off the Czerka assembly line. Model 187 has been designed and built for a Cobraxian Aristocrat by the
name of Eloh T’kharn, of House T’kharn.T’kharn is a relatively unprestigious, low-ranking house and, as such,
finds it difficult to recruit duelists willing to fight for their cause. Eloh utilizes the remainder of his swiftly
diminishing wealth to purchase the droid, and then uses it to fight two duels
over the course of the year, allowing him to expand his wealth and holdings
three-fold.
2) 3661 BBY: Eloh
challenges Ranol Sh’ghath, of House Sh’ghath, to a duel.Sh’ghath employs a cold-blooded Quarren
shootist by the name of Vuhlg, as his champion. The droids astonishing reflexes allow it to win the draw, blasting Vuhlg
in the chest. The brutish Quarren soaks
up the hit, however, and returns fire with an ion pistol, effectively disabling
the droid. Vuhlg then stalks forward and
strangles Eloh to death with his bare hands. Ranol takes possession of GK-13, along with the rest of Eloh’s holdings.
3) 3662 BBY: A rival of
Ranol, Neska H’jansa, lures Vuhlg away from Ranols service with a grotesquely
large bribe. Neska then subsequently
challenges Ranol to a duel of champions. Unbeknownst to Neska, however, Ranol has spent a considerable portion of
his own wealth to repair and upgrade GK-13. Vuhlg and the droid face off for a second time, but the droids enhanced
dexterity, modified blasters and amped-up reflexes win the day. Neska’s holdings are absorbed by Ranol,
greatly increasing the nobles wealth and power.
4) 3663
BBY: Over the course of the following year, Ranol utilizes his wealth to
build a network of agents, allies and illicit enterprises, both on Cobraxus and
throughout the greater galaxy. One of
his business associates is a powerful lieutenant of the Hutt Cartels, a Rodian
Crime Boss by the name of Creesh. As a
token of his respect for Creesh, Ranol gives GK-13 to the crime lord as a
gift. Creesh upgrades the droid with an
Improved Sensor package, Interference Generator and Weapons Detector, utilizing
it as a personal bodyguard and enforcer during high-ranking meetings with other
members of the Cartel.
5) 3664 BBY: In a shady casino in one of the
roughest parts of Nar-Shadda, a Duro gambler by the name of Soola Eeb, wins
GK-13 from Creesh in a high-stakes Sabaac game. The crime lord is incensed, and attempts to renege on the bet by
murdering Soola and retaining his property. But, with the help of GK-13, Soola shoots his way out of the casino and
off of Nar-Shadaa. As it happens, Soola
is, in fact, an agent of the Galactic Republic masquerading as a high-rolling
gambler, who was attempting to infiltrate the Hutt Cartels as a spy. Eeb upgrades the droid once again, further
enhancing its formidable combat abilities and installing Audio Enhancers and
Courier Compartments, to assist Soola in his spying and information smuggling
activities.
Step 2 : List at least two goals
for the character. At least one of these goals should be one that the character
has, while another should be one that you, as a player, want to see developed
over the course of the game.
1) My driving goal for this character is to
create a flamboyant sidekick, with a memorable personality, which will
entertain and amuse the other players and the GM, making them smile in years to
come, when they think of the games we played together. To this end, I hope to develop a particularly
close RP relationship with one of the other characters, by forming a
master/servant dynamic, with a player that is interested in having his
character own a (particularly snarky and egotistical) droid.
2) GK-13 is exceedingly vain and obsessed with its own appearance and
reputation. The droids ego will drive
him to prove that he is one of the most skilled and deadly gunfighters in the
galaxy, of whatever era he finds himself in.To this end, his goal will be to secure the patronage of a wealthy and/or
mechanically gifted master (who can purchase or install the finest upgrades for
him), find opportunity and excuse for engaging famous gunslingers in combat,
defeat them publicly, and thereby enhance his own legend and prestige.
Step 3 : List
at least two secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows,
one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet.
This will help me in creating plots that center on your character. I will also
be creating a third secret which you as a player will not be aware of, so
expect some surprises!
1) For the better part of a year, GK-13 served Galactic
Republic operative Soola Eeb, while he spied on the Hutt Cartel. GK’s memory contains a considerable amount of
intelligence and incriminating evidence with regard to several prominent Hutt
families- most of whom are still powerful and active well into the Rebellion
Era. While GK-13 has no use for or
personal interest in the data, it could be quite valuable to any other number
of parties (not the least of which, are the Hutts themselves).
2) One of GK-13’s courier compartments (the “head” compartment) is exceptionally well hidden, and even
GK-13, himself, has no idea it exists. The
compartment contains a data chip placed there by Soola Eeb. This chip has EXTREMELY valuable information
(Intelligence on some planet with unique resources or hostile alien species? Blueprints for a super-weapon or other form
of advanced technology? Information on
an insidious and far-reaching Sith plot, centuries in the making- who knows?) Which
any number of parties might be willing to kill to get their hands on (or even
burn entire worlds for), were they aware of its existence.
Step 4 :
Describe at least three people that are tied to the character. Two of them are
friendly to the character, one is hostile. If you like, you can include an
enemy of yours here as well, so I have an instant NPC nemesis to throw at you.
1) Rodun: Rodun was the brother of Undro, a
boss of the White Maw pirates, and an old friend and associate of Soola Eeb.The two aliens spent many evening’s playing
the odd round of Sabaac, and Rodun was an excellent inside source of information
for the agent, about the activities of many different criminal
organizations. A member of the Gen'dai species, which has life spans as
long as 7,000 years, Rodun is still alive and would likely regard his old friend’s
droid with affectionate nostalgia.
2) EV-E1:“Eve”
is a LeisureCorp Robotics service droid, which belonged to a prominent crime
lord, during the time of the Galactic Cold War. This crime lord, who had a particularly intense rivalry with GK-13’s
current master, Creesh, was an unstable, violent Gammorean, who had a tendency
to lash out at his droids when angry. The rivalry soon became heated to the point that a feud broke out between the
two criminals. Creesh and his henchmen
raided the Gammorean’s headquarters, killing him and his thugs in a vicious exchange of vibro-blades and blaster fire. Creesh then took control of the crime bosses operation and assets, including the droid Eve. Witnessing GK-13's prowess during the fight, EV-E1 developed something approximating a "crush" on the droid, whom she regards as 'dashing'. GK, for his part, is aware of her affections and, although he does not reciprocate, will grudgingly acknowledge that Eve has an "aesthetically pleasing design"- mostly because her admiration feeds his considerable ego. Eve has survived the intervening centuries and still harbors feelings for GK, and is presently owned by a wealthy and powerful individual. GK-13 may be able to use and/or exploit this to his and his masters advantage.
3) The Desilijic Clan. The Hutts live, on average, for a thousand
years and they have long memories. Soola
Eeb and GK-13 caused a great deal of trouble for this Hutt clan, in their yearlong
partnership. The droids reputation and
distinctive appearance could be easily recognized in association with legends
of old clan enemies; and the Desilijic’s always repay a slight. Step 5: Describe three
memories, mannerisms, or quirks that your character has. They don't have to be
elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor. 1) GK-13 possesses a quite un-droid like vanity, with regard to his components and personal appearance. He is (in his own opinion) the pinnacle of the droidmakers craft; an item of inestimable beauty and value and, as such, expects to be maintained in a manner befitting his worth. If he does not recieve what he feels to be treatment (regular maintenance and upgrades, repaired only with the finest components, decorated with the most precious metals, etc.)commensurate with his value, he will harrangue his master with long, pontificating speeches about how he is being neglected. 2) GK-13 has a personality with a particularly prickly sense of honor. He will not abide any insult to himself or his master, and any such insults will not go unchallenged. He is supremely confident and proud of his ability with a blaster, and his vanity demands that he prove himself better than anyone else; organic or droid. He will seek any opportunity to prove himself in a duel, sometimes finding insult where none is intended, in the hopes of provoking a confrontation. GK's vanity requires an audience (someone to witness and spread the tales of his combat prowess), so he will usually try to provoke such incidents in a public venue. He is also steadfastly opposed to using stealth or engaging in ambushes. In his opinion, sneaking about or attacking from surprise is a tactic fit only for cowards, cutthroats, thieves and other low-born, organic scum. This can cause obvious complications for GK's companions. 3) GK-13's personality matrix and vocabulator are closely modelled on Czerka Corporations HK series assassin droids. As a result, GK shares some of the peculiarity of speech patterns that the HK droids possess. He will precede each spoken sentence, with a descriptive of the thing he is about to say. For example, if asking a question, he might say, "Query: Shall I teach this insolent dog a lesson, Master?"
