Macros re-ordering automatically

November 10 (10 years ago)
I have my macros on my character sheet set up to show on my token. Twice now, I've added a new macro and the order of all of them has changed, both on my token and in the sheet. To reproduce, I simply add a new macro to my sheet, and the order changes. I'm using Windows 8.1, and Firefox 33.0.

Hi, John. By character sheet, do you mean the "Attributes and Abilities" tab or the actual "Character Sheet" tab. The Token Action macro bar isn't sortable and we don't currently have support for reorganizing or managing their order. However, the order of macros on the "Attributes & Abilities" tab should not change.

Also, do you have any macros in the settings tab that are marked as Token Actions?

I do mean the attributes and ability tab of the character sheet, yes. That's where all my macros are, and they did change when I added a new one, twice. I don't have any macros in the settings tab, so that shouldn't be the issue.

The fix I've found for the symptom is to go to your Attributes & Abilities, find a misbehaving macro (usually the new one), and then shift its position by one place and back again. That generally kicks everything back into line... until the next time. :P :)

I did try that, since it's happened before, but these two times it didn't work. I tried that several times, but eventually just had to reorder them by hand. Normally, when that happens it isn't too badly out of order, just one or two showing up at the end of the list for example, but this time it completely reordered everything, and just moving a macro didn't fix it.

I have experienced the same issue from time to time. It tends to happen when I have a lot of abilities on one character.

It happens to me pretty much anytime I add a new macro to the bar, whether it be a brand new macro created or an existing one that I"m just now checkboxing to add to the token bar.

The /other/ temp-fix I've found is to uncheckbox everything, exit out of the sheet, go back in and recheck everything you want.

Is it reordering them just when you click on the token? Or does it reorder them in the attribtures section when you open the character sheet as well? (not that I know how to fix that, but think it can be revelant for the Devs)

John, this behavior is happening every time you add an ability macro for any character? Is it happening only in Firefox or in Chrome as well?

It reordered it in the attribute section as well. Checking with a different character, it isn't happening for that one. Mine has quite a few macros, so it may be an issue of having too many as was mentioned before. I've only been using Firefox, and haven't got chrome installed to check there, but I just added a macro in IE and it didn't seem to have problems there. Looking in Firefox, the new macro has shown up and hasn't reordered everything. I also added another macro in Firefox to test it, and this time it hasn't messed up the order. So it might have been a temporary glitch that has fixed itself now. Since it seems the problem seems to have fixed itself, I guess that means the issue is resolved now. Thanks for the advice and help, everyone.
