Play selected audio file on movement or other trigger

December 06 (10 years ago)
I would love to see something in this general vicinity. As I was making a map with an entrance to a dungeon, I thought about playing an enemy sound deep within a cave as the player steps on the tile to enter it (or a set of tiles perhaps marked like dynamic lighting, or an enemy sound when crossing through a door). Now that I say it like that I think it could work very well if eventually implemented as its own 'sound layer' similar to the dynamic lighting one we are testing at the moment. Another scenario that could be useful is if I as the GM, or a player asks for a listen check, a successful one [in a vicinity I've set previous] would trigger the chosen sound. This was just a very quick thought so I apologize for it not being the most fleshed out idea, but hopefully everyone can help build on it! What do you think?

Trigger zones that can do more than audio files would be awesome. Such as running an api script or opening up an image.

Certainly, if we could trigger audio, movement detection in the API is a solvable problem.
